    Becker has left prison and is back in Germany, as a convicted criminal he has been banned from visiting the UK for ten years. Is the conviction spent after that?   He suddenly unexpectedly won one of the greatest sporting events in the world aged seventeen. Suddenly he was the most famous living German person, and tennis clubs and facilities sprung up like mushrooms in the woods.   I would not have been ready for such fame at 17.   As a half-british, half-german person I think I have something in common with him.   But is he now famous mostly for being famous? Do younger people know about his tennis career?
