  2. We teach Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate under a combined lineage of Senior Master Bob White (California) and Master Eddie Downey (Ireland). Our school is proud to be part of the European Kenpo Karate Association (EKKA).    Adult classes every Wednesday 18:30-19:30 Kids, ages 6-16, every Thursday 17:30-18:30   We cater to all levels; whether you're looking to get in shape, want to learn self-defense, or have trained before and want to try Kenpo, we work around every student to make sure you get the most out of the classes.     Kenpo Karate is a martial art combining ancient fighting techniques with modern scientific principles. A force that will give you the tools to be prepared for almost any possible attack. Every move creates a specific reaction in your opponent; each reaction leads you to your next move. Every strike is a block and every block is a strike. The logical and sequential flow of action is the essence of Kenpo.    Kenpo will help you train your mind as you train your body, developing inner strength, balance, and harmony as you learn.    The head instructor is Paul Jones, who has been training in martial arts since he was 8 years. Paul has trained in Zendo-Ryu, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Go Kan Ryu, and American Kenpo Karate.  More about our Kids Classes:    Do you want your child to have the self-confidence, focus, and discipline that will help them live happy successful lives? So do we! The skills they will learn in our classes will give them this, and much more.  How learning a martial art will benefit your child:      •    Focus and concentration      •    How to set and accomplish goals      •    Mutual respect and empathy      •    Self-confidence and leadership skills    These are just a few of the great benefits you get from our courses. Learning self-defense with a martial art means learning how to defend yourself. And our course offers so much more than just the physical act of blocking, kicking, and punching; it teaches you how to handle yourself even without physical confrontation. The best way to win a fight, is to not get in one!    Research shows:      •    Children who learn a martial art become more assertive and less aggressive.      •    Children who know how to defend themselves usually don't have to, because they carry themselves in a more confident manner, and confidence alone is a deterrent to bullies.      •    Children who train in the martial arts learn the value in setting goals and following through to achieve them.      •    Children who achieve their Black Belt have a higher tendency to become leaders in society.    More information can be found at www.joneskenpo.com.
