  1. So they're going to transfer you some money for postage and that's why they need your bank details?   There is absolutely no reason why the buyer would need your address. I'd be very wary if I were you.   eBay Kleinanzeigen is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Watch your back.

    F'in Texas politics...
  3. Berlin Corona Vaccinations

Looks like they just added a bunch of new appointments for the vaccination centers on doctolib.de (https://www.doctolib.de/institut/berlin/ciz-berlin-berlin)   I got an appointment for my first one on July 11 and the second one on August 20.   Get yours now before they're gone.
  4. Private to Public Health Insurance

Oops, my bad. Got those two confused.   You should ask your employer if you can have a lower salary (less than EUR 4,837.50) for the first month or three, until you've arranged to get into the public system.
  5. Private to Public Health Insurance

    1) Yes. With an annual salary of €60K, you will be well below the Beitragsbemessungsgrenze of €85,200 (in West Germany; €80,400 in the former east), so you will be eligible to switch to public insurance. 2) Not for health insurance reasons, but if you're not planning to do any more freelance work, deregistering as a freelancer will relieve you of some bureaucracy with the Finanzamt - not least filing monthly/quarterly VAT advance returns and quarterly tax pre-payments. You generally also need your employer's permission to freelance, so if you want to continue doing the odd job here and there, you'll need to clarify that.   There might be other factors to this decision that I have overlooked, but I think that's the most important stuff.
  6. Letter from Finanzamt!

The Selbstanzeige means you confess your sins. In exchange, you have to pay the back taxes, plus a likely fine, but escape criminal prosecution.   If the Finanzamt is already pursuing a case against you, however, that option is off the table.   You can start with a tax advisor/accountant, but if you're being audited and you know you've dodged some taxes, I think a lawyer will be inevitable.
  7. Letter from Finanzamt!

If you've already received a letter about it, I'm afraid it's bad news, because it removes the Selbstanzeige option.   I humbly suggest that you retain the services of a qualified lawyer ASAP instead of asking for advice from a bunch of Internet randos, based on incomplete information to boot.   Best of luck to you.   P.S. I moved your post to the Finance section
  8. are many Germans going to work in Switzerland?

But how many Swiss going to work in Germany? And how many Austrians?   You have to watch out for those Austrians. Germany had bad luck with one of those guys.   I sure hope this guy's galactic encyclopedia is done soon, so we can finish all these weird questions.

You're just upset because I didn't offer to let you share in my 400 MILLION USDOLLAR inheritance if you help me spirit it out of the country.
