  1. 3G in Restaurants?

Currently, restaurants, beergardens, event locations etc. are supposed to check their guests if they are: - vaccinated, or - recovered from Covid, or - very recently tested.   I'm in Bavaria, which pretends to be very strict about this. It didn't quite look that way when I recently started going to restaurants in town with friends - I may have have been checked once or twice out of 15 - 20 visits. Do I just look so so trustworthy , or what's going on?
  2. Have all admins abandoned Toytown?

Oh yes, Ed Bob rolled on quite a while ago...

  4. Why are you unhappy today?

Sorry, I can't resist quoting this gem from the Interwebs:   Charles from London posted a success story in Ask A Manager: "After 73 years I’ve finally gotten a promotion at work!"
  5. Random pointless comments

      *clap clap clap* Thank Goodness!!
  6. Why are you unhappy today?

But Charlie is interested in topics that affect the younger generation - climate change, sustainable food production... he already ran an organic farm in the 80s! Maybe there's some common ground after all.   (IMHO he never should have been a royal - gentleman farmer maybe. )
  7. Tenant subletting for profit

Well, then raise the Nebenkosten to high hell! There is no cap on that.
  8. Queen Elizabeth

I'm an American and thus certainly not a monarchist. But: I've lived with the image of Queen Elizabeth my entire life. She already headed "the firm" when I was a child, and I grew up with her young profile on the occasional  Canadian (and later British) coins I encountered.  She intrigued me for being a rare female Head of State in a world of powerful men, and I was greatly surprised to later learn about a very successful ER I as well. She was a last echo of the days of WW2, too. I admired her for having trained as a car mechanic back then. I admired her even more when she insisted on driving a Land Rover in Saudi Arabia , flaunting the local law that banned women from the steering wheel and making Crown Prince Abdullah very uncomfortable. And her subtle snubs of Trump made me laugh.
  9. Is it a DISCRIMINATION at work place.?

That is a bog standard Scrum 101 answer.
  10. Why are you unhappy today?

Reminds me so much of the bad old days on Malta...
  11. January 6th Select Committee

Don't say that! You'll bring back our favorite wine fueled boat captain!!
  12.   Here's the thing - if deadbeat ex simply keeps the child, in his mind he won't have to pay at all! I would be very wary of sending the child to Hungary, especially with that county's poor track record in respect to child abductions. Seriously.   EDIT: +1 to Mike above!!
  13. The War in Ukraine

That's exactly what people used to do in the old days!
  14. Where can I find nuts with reasonable price?

Ah, peanuts are beans, not nuts, and not nearly as healthy... but cheap.
  15. Curious little cars???

I've found that using a smaller bicycle bell that only goes "ding" (instead of "SSSSRRRRRAANNNNNGGGGG")  is enough to warn people and doesn't make them jump out of their skins and yell at me!
  16. What made you laugh today?

Drunk on joy, John? *winks*   (see what I did there? )
  17. The Jupiter image looks like the colors were blue shifted (from partly infrared to the visible spectrum)!!
  18. What made you laugh today?

Actually, I thought Tor would beat me to it!
  19. What made you laugh today?

Because I do love a good nitpick, the key of B minor in the cartoon is written slightly wrong - the second sharp sign slipped. Back to regular programming...     http://www.piano-keyboard-guide.com/b-minor-scale.html
  20. Why are you unhappy today?

I get it. When Dear Relative passed away in the hospital with me present (a moving experience), the nurses came in and gently asked what to do even though there was a DNR statement. The professionals need to be careful. In our case however, the question was swift but quiet.   All my respect to White Rose.
  21. Why are you unhappy today?

Oh Lord. I'm sorry to hear all of this. If you'd like, send me a PM and I'll give you my phone number. Sometime talking helps a bit.
  22. BREXIT positives and negatives

I didn't know that worked either! Will try next time!
  23. I woke up blind in one eye this morning

John, it's a gas!   From what you've been saying and joking about, your vision seems to have improved greatly. I'd say do regular checkups (eye pressure etc.), and if anything happens while in Greece hop on a flight to that excellent clinic in Hamburg.   No more excuses - work! We need more insurance!   Now for the teeth blog...
  24. NO!!! This is a very common scam in Munich!!!   Never sign without a viewing, never pay money before you get the keys!
  25. BREXIT positives and negatives

Guys, let Rennie scream. He lives in his own little world, with his own little beliefs and dare I say projections. IMHO his health issues didn't get any better from that, either. There are TTers who attempted to help him, and he turned on them.   (Just like he will jump on me now for posting this and call me every name the book - only I won't see it because he's firmly back on ignore. Heh. )
