  2. Help needed in filing tax return

@PandaMunich   Need your expert view on my situation. It will a big help if you can reply.
  3. @PandaMunich   I am in need of your advice and views on my situation regarding tax return filing.   1. I relocated to Germany with respect to job in Feb 20 from outside EU (Asia). This is my first move to Germany and my company paid for all the relocation expenses. My question is can I put Umzugspauschale as a deduction. I was reading the BUKG (translated by google so not sure how reliable it will be) that in case the past or future apartment is situated abroad it is not considered international removal. So I am not sure if I can claim Umzugspauschale and if yes what should be the amount that I can claim. I have a son and wife in my family who have also moved. My household goods arrived in May. Another question regarding the same is on move in last 5 years so do the moves outside Germany be counted as a move as I moved within my home country for job purpose.    2. My wife and my son joined me later in July and the Familienkasse granted Kindergeld only from July but not from Feb. In this case whole calculating deduction will my entitlement from Feb be considered by Finanzamt or what I received. I had writted to Familienkasse regarding why I was granted Kindergeld from July and not Feb but have not got their reply.   3. Can both Umzugspauschale and Double household be claimed together as my family moved to Germany later and not at the same time with me. My family lived in their own house back in home country for 5 months. In such case what expenses can I claim like meal expense etc. I have not transferred any money to them.    4. Regarding my foreign income, I will have to declare it in my Germany return and it will increase the tax rate. Do I have to fill Anlage N Aus for it. If yes I have to allocate my foreign income directly to outside Germany and not split it based on actual number of work days.   I have spent a lot of time searching for these answers. I have also hired a tax consultant but I have not been getting answers to my questions. I have been reading your responses on TT and hence reaching out to you for your views as it will be a big help to me and provide clarity to me.   Thanks

Regarding my foreign income, I will have to declare it in my Germany return and it will increase the tax rate. I was looking at the DBA calculation and it calculated the foreign salary amount as No of days worked abroad/ Total number of days worked* Total gross salary. In this case what is the no of days. Is it the number of days actually worked excluding holidays, vacation etc. or is it the number of actual working days in a year. Also the instruction on Elster said to remove/ deduct this amount from the total gross salary and mention it in line 6 of Anlage N. Is this how it should work and doing that based on the number of days calculation my gross salary is coming to be a bit lower than what I have in my Lohnsteuerbeschenigun, Can this be correct?   Looking forward to your or anyone else who can put their views on my questions.   Thanks
