  1. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

Thank you all for your valuable inputs and support. I visited their office and they told us it was  a misunderstanding from both sides and they gave a letter stating my income is more than threshold since beginning and as I was using private insurance so far, it is not possible to cover me now in TK. They also told they will send the same letter by post to my address again. I assume this is sufficient and it is closed now. Advice me otherwise.   I'm happy and believe this is now resolved.    Once again thank you much for your kind support!
  2. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

If you select it is your first job in Germany then it allows to proceed and did not give any rejection. I tried once again now and that's the case. I understand from the clause you mentioned, I would be considered as voluntarily insured. Is it true that,  in this case the notice period is always 2 months.?
  3. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

Hi John, yes as I mentioned it will not reject when you mention it is the first job in Germany as in my case.
  4. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

Yes I'm sure I filled all the information correct. I'm privately insured. This is my first job in Germany and Im working in this job since Dec 2017. For salary I chose the option above the threshold value. (I think the option was  above 5200 per month).  I checked again now, the key is - it is my first job in Germany. If I chose the option (Is this the first job in Germany = no) it does not allow me to proceed. I plan now to visit their office in Stuttgart personally tomorrow and give a letter stating I want to withdraw my application. I hope this works.. it is a nightmare since yesterday I saw this letter. Thank you for your support. Kindly advise if going in person and giving a withdrawal letter is a good idea?

  6. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

Hi, Thank you for your inputs. I hope it gets cancelled by doing this.    Is it normal here in Germany, that I'm added to the insurance by just filling an online form which took just a minute to fill. I was never contacted by email or phone regarding this. All of a sudden, I get a letter stating I'm a member now. I haven't signed any contract.
  7. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

I would like to add some more details: I have a private insurance since I started working in Germany in Dec 2017. I'm still in my first job in Germany and earn above the limit for having a private insurance.   In the letter which I received from TK, it states that I am a member and will be covered by health and long-term care insurance starting on 1 April 2020. It further says that my TK ehealth card will be sent soon.
  8. TK Insurance - cancel my online application

Hi Lisa, They did not mention of voluntary or any other type of membership. I only got a one page letter which just says, as a member I will be covered beginning April 2020. Thank you.
  9. Hello,  I'm working in Germany since end of 2017. I have a private insurance. To understand the benefits of public insurance I filled online TK form last week, by using the option 'become a member' where I also gave my address. My expectation was someone will reach me to discuss options and to decide on a contract. Instead they sent me a letter stating I am now a member and my insurance will commence from 1 April. In the letter they also wrote if I am against this decision, then to send a letter of objection within one month. They also wrote sending letter of objection does not mean suspension of payment.  I do not want to have this public insurance (TK) and prefer to continue with my private insurance.  Is it sufficient if I send the letter to TK stating I want to cancel my application. Or is there something else I need to do? I don't want to pay for both the insurance in April.  Please help me with your answers.  Thank you.
