  1. What's got you flummoxed today?

You need to type up the entire screenplay and send it off to RTL or similar. You’ll be raking it in then!
  2. Food outlet - catastrophe

I think the OP is upset that he/she has spent some money at several different imbisses and the food received hasn’t been up to scratch. For those sums of money, it would appear the OP must have bought several döner babs each time. But like all things gastronomical, quality will vary.  It is also not unimaginable that food hygiene isn’t paramount. Remember the “gammelfleisch skandal” in Bayern not that long ago? https://www.sueddeutsche.de/panorama/chronologie-die-groessten-gammelfleisch-skandale-in-bayern-1.244183   Edit- it was long ago! I’ve been here way too long!😀
  3. Yes! I’ve seen those videos and have learned a thing or two from them. Broccoli and cauliflower seem to suffer badly from white flies in my area. I’ve found that I enjoy broccoli/cauliflower leaves more than the florets. Radish greens are also great as stir fry veg. Cucumbers/gherkins are dead easy as are zucchini/courgettes. Basil is extremely rewarding, as is coriander.
  4. What kind of cooking oil do you use?

I know what you mean but I can’t control what others do. I can only be responsible for my choices. It’s the same reason why I avoid buying meats or eggs where animal welfare did not factor in the sourcing. It means that I eat less meat, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, all things considered.
  5. That’s probably peach leaf curl and is very common on most peach trees. It is a fungal disease which is very hard to combat, but fortunately doesn’t really affect the fruits. The recommended treatment is to spray a suitable fungicide at a very specific time of year - late winter/early spring, as the buds swell and break. It is unfortunately not a cure and sometimes doesn’t even work effectively. There are supposed more resistant varieties of peach trees but I haven’t any experience with those. Pruning is essential for peach and other stone fruit trees. There are quite a few good YouTube videos on how to do this. Well worth a look.
  6. What kind of cooking oil do you use?

Rossman has it in the Bio section. It’s yums too!  https://www.rossmann.de/de/ernaehrung-whole-earth-bio-creamy-peanut-butter/p/5013665115656
  7. Why are you happy today?

I’ve walked in those shoes too, Optimista. So from one weary traveller to another, we’ll get there someday….don’t know how, don’t know when…but we’ll get there..
  8. Why are you happy today?

Both of you @Janx Spirit @emkayhave won the sweepstakes of life. I’m really happy for you.
  9. What kind of cooking oil do you use?

I hope the export ban causes the downstream manufacturers to seek sustainable alternatives. The decades-long raping of Indonesian and Malaysian jungles for palm plantations is unconscionable.
  10. Once a fridge reaches steady-state, meaning all its contents have reached the desired temperature, the additional energy to keep it cool is dependent on how well the fridge is insulated. The contents no longer play a role.
  11. Why are you unhappy today?

@fraufruitMy condolences. I hope some measure of peace can be found by all affected.   I am having the blues. Feeling isolated and alone, having my life as I knew it crumble like rotted bricks. The stark contrast with the wonderful weather and still having to engage in pleasantries with neighbours is so jarring, it makes putting one foot in front of the other difficult.
  12. The War in Ukraine

I mostly agree with you, @bramble. However, I have noticed a difference in attitudes of some Germans when a white person stumbles along with his Crapdeutsch in a British accent, Hugh Grant-style, versus an Indian person or an East Asian person or even a white person with an Eastern European accent doing the same. It’s hard not to put it down to discrimination which in turn feeds the negative feedback loop. To be fair, this happens everywhere and not just Germany and there are a lot of decent people around who want to go the extra mile and be helpful. But often times, all it takes is one floating turd to clear the pool.
  13. Drivers and hand signals

My initial thought when I first saw this thread was…
