  1. A new Session of Online wine dinners with Italian wine-makers will start on Saturday 9th May and continue on 16th and 23rd. Each dinner will bring together 2 wine makers from very different regions of Italy.

    How it works :

    - Sign up for the solo or duo box (1 or 2 wines per producer)

    - Receive the wine at home and suggested recipes to prepare for dinner

    - Tune in, eat, drink, chat, and generally have fun.

We have leading wine producers presenting some of Italy's best wines from Sud Tirol, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Marches, Calabria and Sicily.

    Tickets are limited: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/fayecardwellwineevents/370518

  2. If you're missing evenings out drinking wine during social-distancing, then I have an alternative for you! I have been organising wine events for Italian wineries for over 15 years and since we can't meet up in person anymore I had to come up with something different so I created Quaranvino Dinner Dates, a programme of online dinner dates hosted by some of Italy's leading wine makers from Sud Tirol to Sicily.

I selected these wine producers as they all have stories to tell and have been pioneering in the wine-making of their region. We'll have dinner with:

Klaus Lentsch of Tenuta Klaus Lentsch, Sud Tirol (28th March)

Alessandro Medici of Medici Ermete, Emilia-Romagna (1st April)

Raffaele Librandi of Librandi, Calabria (4th April)

Giacomo Garofoli of Garofoli Vini, Marches (8th April)

Giuseppe Nicolis of Nicolis Vini, Veneto (11th April)

José Rallo of Donnafugata, Sicily (15th April).

To share the experience of being at a dinner with a wine-maker, you'll receive the wines we'll taste (1 or 2 bottles according to the box you choose). The Solo box has 1 wine per dinner, the Duo box has 2 bottles and includes an Amarone and a couple of dessert wines. Dinners will be held at 8pm online via a zoom call. Once you order the wines for the events you'll receive details of how to log-in and be part of the events.

All you need to do is decide what to cook!

I look forward to having dinner with you soon!

  3. The Women Entrepreneurs of Munich is a community focused on supporting english-speaking female entrepreneurs in the Munich area.

On Thursday 20th Feb we have our next event : Woman Brand Yourself, lead by branding expert Meera Rimani,

As ambitious women working on their big visions, most of us are aware of the actions we need to take and the mindset we need to adopt. However, the third part of that equation is sometimes forgotten, and that is branding - how you embody your vision, your values, and your personality, and how that becomes a single cohesive unit that speaks for you, your product or service before you even enter a room.

It's important to be clear and set a consistent brand tone that's authentic to you from the early stages of your business, and nurture it to evolve dynamically as you and your business grow. This will help you differentiate yourself and help you build a resonant tribe.

In this month's WEM workshop, Meera Rimani will teach you how your branding strategy gives you a competitive edge:

    1) What is your “Why”?
    2) Who is your target market? Knowing your clients
    3) What is your USP?
    4) What is your mindset ? KISS
    5) What are your values?
    6) Where will you advertise?

Buy your ticket, limited early bird tickets available: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/womenentrepreneursofmunich/338601

The Mission of the Women Entrepreneurs of Munich is to create a community of English-speaking female entrepreneurs in Munich who further their businesses and succeed together. The group was formed in summer 2019 and has to date already held 14 online and in-person events. Our activities are aimed at growing the community and developing our members’ skills to assist them on their entrepreneurial journey. The members range from women who are in the process of starting out as self-employed to those who have developed successful business employing numerous team members. Our events include social evenings aimed at creating networks and connections between women who can become instrumental in growing each other’s businesses, workshops held by experts in particular fields (business planning, branding, fi-
nances, social media), as well as on-line zoom calls with specific themes (such a goal-setting and creating confidence in one’s business), and monthly co-work and learn sessions. We have also recently launched a WEM Business Book Club.

  4. Totally overlooked that the date didn't appear on the text. Thanks for that.  Just posted another tasting on Portuguese wines and put the date in the title.

The discrepancy in the timing was that it was open to trade and press from 2.30 and winelovers from 4.30pm onwards. The wineries like to have a couple of hours meeting trade before the consumers come in!

  5. On this coming Monday (17th Feb), 16 wineries from Portugal's Douro valley will present their wines at a tasting event in the Hacker-Pschorr in Viktualienmarkt. There will be over 120 wines to discover including white and red still wines made from local grapes and port wines in all the varieties - white, ruby, tawny, LBV and vintage.

    Here's the programme:

6pm - Open tasting - meet the 16 wine makers and taste their selection of Douro and Port wines

6pm - Douro Valley Wines wine walk (in English)  - join Germany's leading Port and Douro expert, Axel Probst, for a guided tour of the tasting. He'll introduce you to the varieties and the styles of wine made in the region so you can have a better idea of what you want to taste after.

    8pm - End of event.

The event will be held in the Teresiensaal on the 2nd Floor of Der Pschorr (use the side entrance). Entrance costs 7 euro which will be taken in cash on the door. 100% of the ticket fees will be donated to the Sticky Fingers Familienverein which supports families of children with life-limiting diseases in the Munich area.

Please reserve your tickets for the event on the link below.

I look forward to seeing you there!

  6. You know Slow Food? Well for wine lovers, there is also a Slow Wine Guide the covers Italian (and also some US based wineries) and in 2020, the guide will be celebrating its 10th edition!

Every year the Slow Wine guide is presented in Munich during an event at Eataly with a tasting of over 50 wineries (many of them having won awards either as a winery or for their individual wines). Most of the wineries are organic or biodynamic, some have certified vegan wines, but they are all recognised for their respect for the terroir and the people who work in it.

The event is open to wine lovers from 4.30pm until 8pm. Tickets for the walk-around tasting (taste at your own pace, meet the wine makers themselves), cost 12 euro and can either be bought online here:http://bit.ly/SLOWWINEMUC2020 or at the Eataly Info point.

There will also be a programme of "Taste and Talk" sessions where Slow Wine editor Jonathan Gebser will present 5 wines on a different theme : indigenous grape varieties, Uber Slow Wines, Mountains and volcanoes. These talks are given in German. The tickets for these cost 15 euro, can only be bought online http://bit.ly/SLOWWINEMUC2020 and include entrance to the walk-around tasting.

Any questions, just drop me a line,

  7. Morning wine lovers! I regularly organise fun wine and food events in Munich which range from small wine-makers dinners with 4-course menu and a selection of wines, to large-scale events with a special programme aimed at consumers. On Monday the Consorzio Chianti Classico will host a tasting at the Künstlerhaus with 40 wineries and over 130 wines to taste. We have a programme of wine walks, two of which are in English and lead by Canadian Sommelier Justin Leone (former Somm at Tantris and judge on Masterchef Deutschland). Tickets for the event can be purchased online and cost 10 euros to include one wine walk and access to the open tasting. Here's the full info for the event:

The Black Rooster is back! With over 300 years of history, Chianti Classico is the oldest protected wine-making region in the world and one of Italy’s most famous wines.

On 16th September, 40 Chianti Classico wineries will present their most recent vintages of the Chianti Classico Annata, Riserva and prestigious Gran Selezione in the impressive setting of the Münchner Künstlerhaus. The 2016 vintage of the Gran Selezione celebrates the tricentennial vintage of the Chianti Classico appellation and sixteen of the participating wineries will be presenting their Gran Selezione 2016 wines.

From 4.30pm wine lovers will have the chance to join in a programme of wine walks lead by some of Munich’s leading wine experts. These guided tasting walking tours will last approx. 30 minutes and will include a tasting of 5 wines around a specific theme (each participant has their own headset to follow the tour around the tasting room). Canadian-born, TV-celebrity sommelier Justin Leone will lead the two wine walks held in English.

Programme of wine walks in English:

6pm – Back to the roots

Over 40% of the Chianti Classico vineyards are under organic viticulture and this figure is growing every year showing a clear indication of the respect the wine-producers of the region have for their land. Join Lustin Leone for a tour of 5 organic and biodynamic wineries.

    7pm – Foreign Touch

The Chianti Classico region, aka “Chiantishire”, attracts tourists from every corner of the globe. Some even stay and turn it into their home, bringing with them different cultures, outlooks and approaches brought from far-off lands. Join Justin Leone to meet five wine producers who fell in love with the wines of the Black Rooster, and decided to make their own.

For the complete programme of wine-walks in German, please see above.

Places at the wine walks are limited to a maximum of 15. Entrance to the free tasting is included in the price of the wine walks.

Pre-event booking: 10 Euro per person

Day of event: 18 Euro per person
