I live near Braunlage in the harz region. I speak horrible german and have less language problems here than i had in Berlin. Housing is reasonable but these are small towns, so not sure how any special needs for your son would be such as in school. There are lakes all around but not sure about swimming as most are for drinking water. Lots of waldbads. There are 100s of kilometers of hiking and biking trails. Cross country skiing and small downhill areas also. There were spruce trees as far as you could see but not now...all clear cut for the bark beetle. But still nice and lots of nature. Houses in smaller villages that are liveable but may need minor freshening for a little over 200k can be found with land but you need to search. Some nice homes pop up in walkenreid and weida from time to time. Braunlage proper is not cheap. Many decent homes in and around the small towns in harz. But it snows quite a bit and winter can be long at the upper elevation towns. For money you cant beat it if you like small and quiet. People are friendly and you do need a car here.

When our company made a major closing we had many employes took new jobs before the end of garden leave. I dont know what the options to do it was was called offically but they were paid only 50% of the garden leave time and started their new jobs. They did need to make some arrangement with hr and works council to do this. Also it was a large closure with 70 people...but there were a lot that did this as many went to the same new company.

My wife had this for terrible shoulder pain over several. In usa treatment was cortizone and pain pills..which both did not work at all. The low does radiation worked miracles and almost completely eliminated a years ling problem. Keep in mind shoulder and not thumb. She went 5 times actual treatment is about 1-2 min each time. There is no risk to this as the radiation is super low and should probably be used more than it is.

Disregard my post did not pay attention to the you dont want to DIY part. The price is about what my neighbor paid for about the same with fixtures
but that was 2 years ago pre inflation times.

Tile paint the walls..I have done 2 complete bathrooms they came out beutiful. I would reccommend semi gloss not gloss. I used obi brand. Covered ugly 1960 beige with flower prints. Took 2 coats. Just a wipe down with acetone first. And sand the tiles that had raised prints. Secret is to use a high quality micro foam roller. Yes it smells for several days. Do the floors with solid vinyl click flooring they have beautiful stone patterns. But only 100% vinyl as its waterproof. Lay directly over old floor. You can use floor leveler first to fill the old grout lines. Although you can float it i glued mine. I would not paint the shower walls. You can also glue the click flooring to the walls match...a little complicated or buy thin panels that go over the tiles. Then just replace faucets, toilet etc. Also for vanity much cheaper to use a kitchen base cabinet, counter top and modify to size. German vanities are rediculously expensive for what you get. All in I have 2 k for 2 complete bathroom remodels...with all new faucets, cabinets etc and they look great. We get compliments all the time. If i can figure how to post a photo i will but cant reduce the size enough. My bathroom also has 2 layers of ceramic.

In the current siuation we would not take that risk. Allthough as i said he is wonderful.with everyone except us. He got worse after i came back from a 7 day hospital stay for my condition recently. Our behaviorist thinks he may be picking up on my health change and trying to take my role...i know dogs are intuitive. As for dogs dont think we will try again i dont think i can with my changes. In the past all my dogs were found from the street.

Actually this was a new vet...much better and did extensive blood work ie finding some thyroid food issue, did a real eye and ear exmin with drops and instruments. The one before blamed us for all his issues. So yes second and even 3rd opinion. We think the behaviorist is good a a few things have worked and has a bachelors degree in animal behavior and works with 3 vet clinics in the uk. She actually spent 3 hours on oriignal.consult when was supposed to be a hour and she follows up regularily.

Thank you so much we will try. We called our vet again this morning and we were told that they cant give him anything...even a small tiny dose of something to calm hi. Unless he is under observation. I told them ok how do we do that... answer we cant because he is agressive. And in the meantime the dog is bouncing off the walls he slept a maybe 4 hours last night. To be honest it would be funny if we were not living this...and the less he sleeps the more agitated he becomes. Of course we were offered another useless herbal option. And we have tried these with no affect.

Hello thank you. if you personally know a contact would be great if you could ask we are trying to work with our vet. We have tried to look for foster or the tierschutz places...absolutely un willing to help...they all assume you just want to get rid of the dog. The situation does not fit the box they have to check. We did find out he is hyper thyroid. Most likely do to expensive bio wet food we have gave him...we have put him on boiled chicken and dry mix as recommended same day. however he is not sleeping and needs to sleep we have tried everything special spaces natural relaxing tablets music etc..of course he needs some real medicatio to help at least until he gets a few days of rest. Dogs need 14 he is maybe doing 8 and never straight through.. The one day he did sleep a lot he was better. Of course this is germany so no medicine just herbal tablets and no answers. We are just exhausted trying to get help for him and are truely ready to give up.

Hello all from myself and my wife we have a very sad search we need help to find a reliable and compassionate org to rehome our westie. His name is Charlie. He is 10 months of age, registered, received from a good breeder and in perfect health since he had a extensive vet check on friday. (Well we are waiting reults of latest blood tests, but they expect finding nothing) he is agressive to us in our home. We are working with a highly credentialed behaviorist in uk via virtual video consultations. We live in a small town in the harz mountains. We have been working qith training si ce a young pup. We have also taken him to a highly reviewed and recommended german dog trainer (huge mistake which made situation worse) He actually walks on lead fairly well, sits, stays for shorter periods. We are working on down. We have read a million books as well and do e tons of research.. He has been on mutiple vacations with us to the beach in netherlands, up and down both coasts of denmark on a caravan trip, he is our joy and we are devastated. He is super friendly with others - paws up tail wagging wanting to be petted. He cant wait to meet other dogs, even the most savage beast which he thinks will want to play. We live in a smaller apartment 55 sqm so it is difficult to give him space that behaviorist thinks he may need. There are several other dogs in our building that go past our hollow doors frequently making it difficult for him to relax. I have a MS like condition and the stress is not helping my condition...was in the hospital for a week recently with a relapse. WE WANT THE BEST FOR HIM. Both the vet and behaviorist think we should rehome him to a rescue/foster situation. I will not put out a add somewhere asking for someone to buy him or take him as we do not want him abused or used for breeding in a puppy mill somewhere. He needs the right environment. There are several westie rescues in the uk we have spoken to for guidence...they will take him and think maybe he has picked up on my illness while i was away in hospital, not sure i believe it but they have worked with many westies over the years. At the moment we are not sure how he would deal with a ferry transit to uk after a long drive to the port. Anyone know of a org here..i have searched countless times and find zero. Mostly selling rescue dogs so.eone bought from Romania etc. I am not looking for offers from people to adopt him. He needs some special attention. We are devastated that we need to do this and have spent several weeks shedding some tears, sleepless nights to get to the decision. But we want the best for him as well, as he is clealry stressed as well. Thanks i look forward to any info someone might have.

I can write a book on all the negatives. What i can strongly recommend is go to poland and pay yourself...its not expensive at all. The drs in my opinion are better there and they take there time, well at least because you would be paying. My wife had a endoscopy and bloodwork as well as a long gastro consult..total cost around 200 euros. Dr spent nearly a hour with her. You can look up on line and schedule all you need done. We went to a clinic in poznan but think a bigger place in warsaw or krackow would be even better. I could give you a referral for a very good polish opthamologist in germany but she is in clausthal in the harz

Upakweship.com they will either send you a collapsable crate that is prepaid to their facility and shipped to your door in germany or you do a per cube price that you pack and ship to them. I would assume you can transport it to their facility youself or hire a carrier, Then they also deliver to your door in germany (cheaper than the collapsable pallet). They then build a container out of all the shipments..took about 6 weeks. They do the import paperwork and you build a pack list with their forms. My shipment came in through the neterlands. No one was close to their rates but was 2017 and remember container costs have skyrocketed in last year as well as transit time. We shipped 3 pallets we packed ourselves no loss or damage

Who did the repair? Where you there when the did it? How long where they there? Did they have to retile most of the shower? The price is rediculus even if a expensive design unless they had to remove and replace half the wall. Do you have a detailed bill from a plumber?

As mentioned subaru is not a brand that is common here although it exists. In my opionion used car prices are currently very high in the us...they have went up more than here. So it would be a perfect time to sell avoiding the cost of any conversion, transport if you are paying it etc. As well as all the hassle to do all the hassle of tuv after a move. Also keep in mind unless you ship it back selling it here would lead to a big loss. Germans want to see service stamps from the day the car is new which you will not have and also that fact that it was not a germany sourced car will strongly affect any later resale.

I would not push for any quotes as then he will present that as his cost. And if there is damage that was preexisting the quote will just reflect repairing damage you did not do. Not sure if you have a good case as neither he nor you have a really good contract and or proof of when damage ocurred from either side. Before doing anything talk to a lawyer for perspective on your case and see if they say you would be in a good position. I would not offer to reapair the cabinets. If you have legal insurance you can do anphone review of basics with their lawyers for free. I would have no further communication until you decide how to proceed. If lawyer then let them respond, and see if he even pusues you. If no lawyer then pay the 130 get a written confirmation everything is settled. There are sitez where people rent caravans and trailers throught a site like airbnb. They have some standard contracts and insurance. Did you rent from one of those or through a listing like in ebay klingen?

When i came here was also a question as to wether i could qualify to get the public insurance option as i was 57 but since first time in germany i was able to. My insurance broker contacted sbk and did a preenrollment before i took the job. I receved a written confirmation from sbk confirming this. Once we got here i just needed to send my address and photos. I would not have accepted the job without it due to private insurance cost. Maybe you can do this on your own through the krankenkase if your deutsche is good enough. I thought at the time i was told if i previously had public i could get back in even is not a citizen or resident but not sure on this as i did not apply so paid little attention to the info

Yes good point on the insurance. Although i have a friend that does this with her caravan and she does have a policy that allows it somehow.

You should have taken date stamped pictures of the caravan before pickup before pickup and after return as well as made a walk through marking down damage and both signing off before and after as well. Especially because you are renting from a private party. Now you are sort of in a he said she said type problem. He could be bluffing do you have legal insurance? Even with legal insurance with deductible could cost you more than the 130. Maybe easier to chaulk it up as a lesson learned for next time. If you do pay make sure you get a release from anything further in writing. Good luck. Also maybe picture you have could work but seems like you are saying it does shwo the damage very well?

At your age make sure you price in your heath insurance cost as it will not be cheap. If you had public insurance the last time you lived here you might be able to come back in but i would verify that in advance. If not its would be private which for age will be expensive. Just a fyi

Yes had one in usa.helps with dry skin not sure for hairloss, but hair will be softer. Does help keep hot waters work better as they dont scale up as well as dishwasher and shower heads. Shower doors have less water spotting and for sure clothes wah better as the detergent works better. If at all possible its best to have kitchen faucet cold water line not on softened water as it does softened water via sLt based softner has a different taste. But this is not always easy to do due to plumbing. If water is really hard it will make a noticeable difference

This is similar to how a HMO works in the USA. For 50 euros a year there is no benefit whatsoever to do this. If you get a referal your hauzart is already copied on any results. If you go to a sepcialist without referral you can alsways add them to the forms there so they get those results as well.
