I would prefer with Huria as it's my family name... somehow i have opportunity to correct mistake done by my grandfather.

Kumar is not a family name. it denote Hindu religion in some parts of India. In some parts, they use father name as middle name instead of Kumar.

    Rajesh,

Think about your child ina german school. He/She will be bullied until emotional breakdown with that surname. I understand your sentiments ,but think a little far.

Damn , it's already too late for him😀. What a pity i was not around at that time with my wisdom

  2. I really like those brioche s except the sweetness. They are a very good combination with spicy chicken stew and hot coffee . I recently found that a local edeka s bakery has them without the sweetness. Even though they make them like buns the shape is not as important as taste for me.

  3. With german health insurance, they may need to argue with immensely arrogant vfs staff, who thinks they have power over every applicants.

I usually take two of them. One from india to avoid confusion at vfs torture centre and the second from ADAC .

Other vaccines don't work either.  I know more people who are vaccinated and got 1 or 2 boosters and wore those stupid masks all the time and still got Corona.  Just a money making gimmick

Last year when many people where dying due to corona per day, i walked in and out of an ICU in india to deliver oxygen concentrators. The nurses there wore ppe protection, i had only FFP2, and my 2 doses of Pfizer at that time. I believe one of them or both of them saved me.

    It's the same logic.

They don't report it especially when they register in non EU countries.

Estonia is not the best example I gave but even there with attorney and privacy options they report nothing to Germany and earn 100-200 k extra per year deposited there and withdrawn with cards all over Europe.

Of course taxes are payed in Estonia or whatever other country is used so it is fully legal but just no trouble with Germany , krankenkase or bullshit like that.

As I live in Germany and am not very patient to setup such arrangements wanted a straight solution within Germany only.

But I will decide what to do after getting more information.

Thank you all for info so far

A person who is a tax resident of germany is legally required to file their taxes in Germany. This involves their world wide income. In my knowledge this is the case with most countries.

For eg, i am an indian citizen but I am a tax resident of germany . So I pay taxes for all my income in India and germany in Germany. The tax indian government collects from me can be reclaimed stating double taxation prevention treaty . Same vice versa.

There are financial data sharing system with eu countries , and also with non EU countries. Look up CRS and FACTA.

Don't trust your contact s , either they don't know what they are doing , or they are playing with fire and committing a crime .

But don't get disappointed , may be you can contact @PandaMunich to understand whats needed, who is a tax consultant and speaks english.

  6. Mungbeans spinat rice pan

Buy mungbeans from an Asian/indian store. Soak it in water for a day and keep it in freezer.

Add 0.5 cup soaked beans and twice amount of rice to pressure cooker or a kochtopf and add water and salt. Cook it until done. Set it aside. Add a little olive oil and saute garlic and onion in a pan. Then add frozen spinat and cook at high temperature to get it dried. Add dill or peterselie if needed. Once done add the cooked rice-beans combo to it . Add butter if u like.

    Gourmet Variations

You can pimp it with coconut raspel , tomato paste, or even broth for different lines of taste.

    Beerbelly version

Fry bratwurst in slices with cumin seeds and pepper powder, to mix with it. Then its a nice friday dinner with beer

I love to watch such kind of wild garden. But I can't have one .  I'm scared of it, due to a snake bite from our veg garden during my childhood.

Last night I visited a Kebap Doner shop (guess managed and ruuned by some immigrants). I ordered a yufka kebab as takeaway. When I opened the food I was shocked by its quality. I cant say it as a food. Such a catastrophic.

Also had very similar experience in another Kebap shop long back.

Why doesn't Germany has control on food safety in these kind of road side outlets.?

I really felt cheated with my money. !  :(

Was it brown or white kind ?. Need to be more specific to draw conclusions.

    I meant the bread

  9. First of all you need to find which are the quiet hours in your building. You can find that in the hausordnung , else ask your landlord. If they are making noise outside quite hours , i don't think you can do anything. In my previous apartment 1300 to 1500 was quiet hours.

Also 2200 till 0700 is also quiet hour . But it can vary , do check .

If I were you I will follow steps like below.

    1. If they are not respecting quiet hours , do talk to them with a copy of hausordung to prove your ground right then, like catch them during the crime.

2.if they don't agree, seems like your case ,start to make a document containg date and time and description. Involve your landlord and request to mediate ,

3.if he is of no use  mietverein is the only option if you don't have legal insurance. From then onwards the notorious nachbarkrieg will start. And you are at war.

Side note: If the neighbor has children , you will lose this war for sure.

  10. I tend to believe that doctors here are very theoretical. If my problem is not on his text book exactly as it's there, he is lost. Then he will play the cards, stress or wear tear due to age. Somehow the balance between theory and experience is missing here.

Also, lack of staffs are a serious problem here. Few years ago I had a hairy man abcess excision surgery :) on my lower back. On the next day of surgery , i was forced to change the cotton Gauss myself in a shower room because the nurse had no time for me.

I have high tolerance to pain , and usually I won't faint on blood sight , so I did it. The shower basin was a blood bath with water and blood. I m worried about others if they are not tolerant to this kind of mess. German hospital s are for DIY people

  11. That is such a horrible and degrading situation for you. He attacked you and caused you pain and above all humiliation. For me that's too much to take.

If your instincts didnot  pick up when you are that much offended , you are a peaceful soul and that is not your home.   Find some place else.

  12. I took a sprinter lately using check24. It was cheap, the van was given by X through Y, and I collected it at Avis:). After return , i got a bill for 450 euros related to scratches . The van was already covered with scratches, and I did not made anything myself.

Log story short, the insurance which check24 provided while opting for zero self pay took it over and paid. I had to pay some 40 euros from my pocket.

So in my case it was not bad

What are the thoughts of the members here on plug-in hybrids? We are planning to change our car and are not sure of relying on an EV. The rowhouse we live in does not have an attached garage. The garages are a few doors away and there is no provision for a plug point there. I don't see any way to have one in front of the house as it would mean running the charging cable over the sidewalk.

Besides, we like long road trips and don't think we will enjoy with a 30 minute break every three hours or so. So, we are thinking that a PHEV would be a safer bet for the time being.

I thought of leasing one. But then remembered that I dont have much of city driving , so I don't have the electric drives s advantage. If you are leasing it and if you have city drives then I think it's good option. I fear that power demand for highway is too high and the machine will engage the dirty power source

It was at our local doctor’s surgery. After 5pm, one day a week, they only do Covid vaccinations.

As the man was leaving having been loudly and rudely dismissed, I saw that most of the other patients in the queue reached out to console him. Maybe he or his family will report the incident though he might be better off seeking another Hausarzt altogether.  I absolutely understand that most medical staff are under alot of pressure though this kind of behaviour is not acceptable under any circumstances.

Our kinderarzts staff are even worse. They won't take calls , they won't answer emails, they confirm their online appointment system and then reject appointments right at the appointment without even an apology. I ve heard them shouting at women who can't speak german. I assume those people were just there because the praxis had one  arab speaking staff doctor.

We complained two times to the doctor , he just sympathises with us but no actions. Apart from his horrible staff he is super nice and one of the best i would say.

Last week was the breaking point, they confirmed corona vaccination for my child, i took half day off , took her to the clinic just to find that vaccination is not possible because they failed to see covid-19 in my email. I feared this might happen so I tried to call them more that dozen times but no one would pick up the calls. What a bunch of irresponsible idiots?.  As icing on top they were arrogant too.

We could not take it any more, so we found another kinderarzt.  Hopefully he is as good as the previous one. But his staffs are definitely human.

Can´t advise on the car, but I can seriously recommend taking out ADAC membership for her when she does get a car.

I have been with the ADAC for years and years now, but a week after taking out coverage for Shorty, guess what?! - car copped a moody, wouldn´t start for love nor money, and had to be towed to the local garage!

Also, I believe that you are in a similar position to me, Em, daughter away from home, studying, and you not always being available to help her as and when...

Have her join the ADAC and you will at least always know that somebody trustworthy will go out to her if the car breaks down on a lonely country road at night, or whatever...

Wouldn't a pannenhilfe option with insurance do the same ?. It's not as expsive as adac. One time my wife had to use it, at that time we had VHV insurance. Help came within 30min even at 1900 uhr

  16. Now I am enlightened. Naturschutz law or something. Some time ago I wanted to collect some butterfly cocoon to do a project with my then 4 year old daughter. Before doing so because of wasp experience I googled it and found out that I am not allowed to collect the cocoons.

Luckily her kita took it up and did it with help from zentrum fuer Natur und umwelt

  17. I had a narrow escape from doing something illegal.  Back in my home country, when we find a wasp nest we used to burn it. Too dangerous for children and pets. Two guys are needed , one carrying a huge torch from dried coconut leaves to burn the nest , other with a small torch to protect the first one from still flight worthy wasps. An adrenaline game with chance for severe pain.

Here I was too confused , the nest was attached to the dachstuhl , so I could not set it on fire :D.  I called the land lady and she told me that I am talking about a crime which will cost me up to  50k euros.

She sent a lady who was a professional , and it was nice to watch her work with all those protective suits.
