  1. Extracting a cross-threaded screw

Damn it! I was working on my motorcycle today, and I managed to cross thread a screw. Now the screw is 1/3 the way in and won't come out, but can go in a little further. I stopped working to prevent further damage, but I thought I'd ask for advice. I applied a good amount of force, but it won't come free.   My first thought was to get some WD-40, and spray it on the screw, and use the fact that it can go further in to work in the lubricant. Any advice to that approach? Any other recommended lubricants?   Short of drilling it out, what other options do I have?
