  1. I am denkyo, the original poster.  I carefully read all of the responses to my post.  Many of the responders did not read carefully or imagined facts which did not occur.

For example, one of the posters writes about facing one's accuser.  That poster does not seem to know that there was no court case, court, judge, or trial.

For another example, some of the responders discuss,  sometimes,at length, that Germany's vehicle records sometimes are wrong about color.  I knew that.  In a police building, I said the color.  A police employee said a different color.  He was wrong.  It's conceivable that he merely meant that government records showed a different color.  If that's all he meant, why did he tell me?  Why would I have cared what government records show the car's color to be?  When I was in the police building,  I did not ask what color government records showed and I didn't care.  The police were very concerned about the color discrepancy.  Police told me in German and in English what they contended the car's color was, and they asked me if I was sure about what I had told them.  Anyone with common sense knows that a government record of a car's color might be wrong.  A few minutes after I said the car's  color, a police employee said the car's color.  What he said was wrong.  A few of you responders seem to think that he meant the color shown by government records.  If you're right, he spoke incorrectly.  I am not surprised that some government records are wrong.  It does not seem suspicious to me that a government record of that car's color was wrong.  If there was something suspicious, I do not know what it was and I guess that it has nothing to do with why I went to the police.

I carefully read each response, pondered them more than a day, again carefully read each response, then finally wrote this post.  I wanted to be sure that I correctly understood each idea, each sentence, everything that was in each response.  In general, I was appalled by the poor analysis which characterizes many of the responses.  Perhaps some of you quickly read what I wrote, or have problems with subtleties of the English language, and therefore did not fully understand.  It seems a tad wrong of you to tell me that I do not understand what happened, keeping in mind that   I was there and you weren't.  I observed their demeanor and tone of voice, and noticed which facts they seemed much concerned with.  I know what they said.  I think that I am far better qualified than you to interpret what happened.

There is a third example.  In my opening post,  I guessed about the cause of something.  My guess listed three possibilities which, "in theory,", might be the cause.  Look "in theory" up in a dictionary.  That term often implies that what is stated may not be true.   I was thinking out loud.  I was listing possible causes even though some seemed dubious.  Some people read my post as if "in theory" did not appear.  In my post, I wrote that I did not know,  and that all three possibilities might be wrong.  Despite all that writing by me,  a few responders seem to have mistakenly concluded that I thought that three possibilities were right.

In my opening post, I reported my experience but did not invite feedback.

A separate reaction I have to the responses is how rude some of them are.  Certainly you may disagree with me.  However, some of you are extraordinarily rude, even vile, in the way you expressed yourselves.  Ypi may have violated this forum'd TOS.  This loutishness characterizes many web forums, not just Toytowngermany.

One response to my post refers to the responder drowning in my stream of consciousness.  Thank you for your thoughtful, concise, nicely metaphorical remark.  In the future, especially in this forum, I shall try to write much more clearly, avoiding a stream-of-consciousness style.  I did not ask anyone to read ny proposed post in advance and then give me frank feedbank about what he thought I meant.  Perhaps I should have.  I hope that this post, my reaction to the responses, is clear.

Police are a touchy subject.  I suspect that a few responders eagerly defend police behavior, or eagerly attack someone who criticized police behavior, despite having little knowlege of what happened.  This does not prove that those responders are wrong.  It merely may be part of the explanation of why they are wrong.

  2. Who does the crimes, done in Niedesachsen's Oldenburg and elsewhere in Germany, a few of which are described elsewhere?  Some seem to be done by German police or correction officers or their supporters.

When some Oldenburg police officers told me that they needed more information before they could help me, at least some of them knew well that some police were the criminals.

About several weeks ago in an Oldenburg police building, I told Oldenburg police about, among other things, a car's color and license plate number.  I had clearly seen the car and written down its color and license plate number.  .  I don't want to write here the car's color.  Let's pretend that the cae is blue and I said to the police that it was blue.  A police employee said that the car was a different color.  He did not say how he knew the car's color.  I shall here pretend that he said that the car was yellow.  He was mistaken or lying.  If I assume that the police employee was mistaken (not lying), perhaps government records show that the car is yellow.  In any event,, I had clearly seen that the car was blue.  The demeanor and tone of voice of the police people there seemed to imply that I was wrong about the color.  I left the police building telling myself never to deal with Oldenburg police again, which I guess was their purpose in treating me as they did.

Later, perhaps a few weeks later, a police officer or two came to my home.  He or they just showed up.  I was home.  He (or they) sat with me and talked.  An officer told me that he had found the car.

Recall that, according to a police employee in the police building I had been in, the car with the plate I described did not have the color I described.  Thus, it should have been impossible for the officer in my home to have found the car I had described if one assumes that the police employee in the building was truthful.  I then concluded that the police in the police building had lied to me.

I asked the officer in my home to confirm that he had found the car and he confirmed.  I became wary of talking with German
police including those in my home then..

The officer in my home wanted to know if I had hard facts, by which he seemed to mean accusations of crime that were specific enough for him to investigate.  I did and they were in writing, too.  However, I had lost all enthusiasm for dealing with German police.  I did not get my notes.  We spoke briefly and he left.  He did not give me his card, perhaps because he did not want me to contact him.

In my home, I spoke with one officer.  I vaguely guess-remember that there was another officer with him.  As far as I know, I had never spoken with the two officers before their visit to my home.

    ...

Somehow, the car's owner or driver seems to have discovred that I am the one who told police.  This raises a question of how he did so.  I don't know.  I guess that, in theory, there are at least three possibilities.  One:  police told him.  Two:  when I spoke with police in my home, my home was bugged.  The bugger told him.  There is a third possibility.  Because my suspicion about the owner-driver had been right, he had immediately guessed it was I when he discovered that someone had told police.  All three possibilities might be wrong.

This episode made me think about police.  If Oldenburg had ten percent more police, or even twice as many police, what difference would it make?  I am skeptical of the effect on the amount of serious crime.

  3. A random explosives test recently was done to me at Munich airport.  There was no drug-sniffing-dog and no puffer machine.  AS far as I know, there was no cloth or paper tissue, nothing was moist or wet, and nothing was wiped.  My luggage was not with me.  The testing person, a man, quickly, briefly touched me four times with what seemed to be the dry, plastic end of a wand: once on each palm, once on the back of each hand.  I do not understand the chemistry of the test.  How could that test detect explosives?
    ...
That test was done soon after I had left a plane which had brought me to Munich from a foreign country.  I was not told the outcome of the test, so I guess that there was nothing suspicious.  I left the building soon after.
    ...
If you were tested for explosives in Germany, please describe the test.

  4. I am the original poster, denkyo.  This post has two purposes.  Earlier, I asked for information.  Some people gave me information.  Thank you very much.  Thanking them, not all of whom posted in this forum, is my first purpose.
    ...
My second purpose is to give more examples of harassment of me.

    I.   TRASH
        1.  Suitcase
    ...
I am an American living in Niedersachsen.
    ...
I flew from Bremen to Boston.  Although there generally seems to have been prompt transfer of luggage from my plane to a luggage carousel, my suitcase was much delayed.  Just before I was going to submit a missing luggage claim, I got my suitcase.  Then I went from the airport to a hospital to visit my mother, and finally to a motel.  In the motel, I found that the zipper on my suitcase had been tied shut.  I had given the suitcase untied to the airline.  Furthermore, the tying could have been done well with only one or two quickly tied knots.  However, the tying was extremely elaborate.  It obviously had been done by someone with much time to do it.  Many criminals work as quickly as possible to minimize the risk of being caught.  This criminal wanted me to know that he worked with impunity.  He was certain that no one would punish him for tampering with luggage.
    ...
I cut through the string which kept the zipper closed.  Then, I opened the suitcase.  In the suitcase, I found many pieces of black, plastic trash that were added after I gave the suitcase to the airline.
    ...
I will now describe the pieces of trash.  Imagine that a person dropped a black bowling ball, of the kind customarily used in America, onto hard concrete from a great height.  I guess that the ball woud break into many, irregularly shaped pieces.  A person might then take pieces each of which is about the same volume as a chicken egg.  My suitcase contained irregularly shaped pieces each of which had about the volume of a chicken egg.
    ...
I guess that the pieces were put into my suitcase to tell me that I am black trash.  I do not know who did it.  Later, I returned to Niedersachsen.
    ...
Above in this thread, I described an incident in which a stranger did his best to denounce me to cabin crew on a flight.  The flight was from a non-German city's airport.  That was the same airport in which I earlier had gotten the black trash suitcase.  Flying out of Germany to that city, I got black trash.  Flying out of that city to Germany, I was denounced to cabin crew in the plance.
    ...
        2.  Friendly Greeting
    ...
When I was in an airport terminal waiting for my flight back to Germany, the denunciation flight, a uniformed police officer walked over to me and briefly greeted me in a friendly manner.  This was odd because he and I had nothing to do with each other.  I was the only person to whom he spoke.  I was not on line or doing anything.  I was standing still in a bunch of many people, waiting.  Perhaps the police officer was merely trying to be helpful.  Two of the reasons I mention this is that the flight from Germany to this airport resulted in black trash in my suitcase, and the flight from this airport to Germany resulted in another passenger doing his best to denounce me to the cabin crew.
    ...
        3.  Sidewalk box
    ...
One day, much after the trip to Boston, while walking in my Niedersachsen neighborhood, I saw a small, cardboard box on the sidewalk adjacent to someone's backyard fence.  The top of the box was open, permitting me to see the box's contents.  The box held the same kind of black, plastic trash that had been put into my suitcase.  One morning much later than that walk, I rang  the doorbell to ask the resident about the box.  There was no response.  No one came to the door.  I went back a few days later,  in the afternoon.  Again,, there was no response.  No one came to the door.  There are innocent explanations for that.  For example, perhaps no one was home.
    ...
I think that the box resident, the resident with the box on his sidewalk, works for a local police department in Niedersachsen.  I have no idea why the box was there.  Perhaps the location is a red herring, a fake clue designed to thwart an investigation.  Perhaps the criminal wants me to know that he is for police.  I do not know.
    ...
    II.  PHONE CALL
    ...
        1.  Police name
    ...
Between the two days that I went to the box residence, an interesting event occurred.  I have a friend, whom I#ll call "Ann," who has a black friend, whom I#ll call "Barbara."  Barbara was in a mostly black country in Africa when I twice went to the residence with the box.  Ann, in Niedersachsen, called Barbara, in Africa.  The call was from a phone I often use.  Barbara's phone displayed the caller's name and telephone number.  The displayed telephone number was right.  The displayed name was, more or less, "Oldenburg Polizei."  That name had nothing to do withe call.  That name should not have been displayed.  Barbara, in Africa, told Ann,  in Niedersachsen, about the police name being displayed.  Ann then told me.  I had never told them, or anyone else, about the black trash in the suitcase or cardboard box.  I had kept that entire matter secret.

    ...
If a person gets a phone call which seems to come from police, he might not pick up the phone or return the call.  Therefore, I would be harmed if calls fron me seemed to came from police.
    ...
I think that the wrong name display was done by someone with access to a German telephone company's computer.
    ...
I don' know how often a police name is displayed for calls from phones I often use.  I know only about the one incident I reported above.
    ...
I guess that Oldenburg police did not cause the false display name.

The main purpose of this thread is to identify Internet criminals to get them punished.  I guess that I will fail.  I got information about other criminals and harassers, and I am deeply grateful.

  5. The request in the first message in this thread, the one which started the thread, is great.  This thread should periodically be updated.  If someone from Berlin is visiting Oldenburg for two months, and knows German so poorly that he asks about Oldeburg in an English language forum, what opinions would you have about what to do and to avoid?
Before I give my own opinions, I will comment on the opinions already posted.
The city theater was suggested.  I think that the theater would not be appreciated much by someone who knows German poorly.
Someone mentioned horseback riding.  I do not know if Oldenburg has a stable which rents horses.
Someone mentioned the North Sea.  The Sea is north of Oldenburg.  There are nice beaches there.
At least one person mentioned museums.  Oldenburg's museums are neither outstanding nor pathetic.  Before I continue, I need to mention two things:  lighting, and visiting method.  Some museum rooms have room lighting.  In room lighting:  an entire room is well lit.  Room lighting is expensive.  In exhibit lighting, there is enough lighting by each exhibit to permit that exhibit to be seen well by someone close to that exhibit.  A museum's electricity bill is much lower with exhibit lighting.  There are at least two ways to visit museums:  thorough visiting and glance visiting.  Thorough visitors examine each exhibit.  Glance visitos take one or two steps into a room, glance at the exhibits in that room, then look closely only at those exhibits, if any, which seemed interesting at the glance.  Glance visiting is possible only in museums with room lighting.  One cannot do glance visiting.in a museum with exhibit lighting.  At least once, I saw each exhibit in each Oldenburg museum.  I am certain that at least one Oldenburg museum has exhibit lighting.  I think, but am not certain, that more Oldenburg museums have exhibit lighting.  The people who recommended Oldenburg museums did not recommend any specific exhibit or museum.  Neither do I.  Oldenburg is near the Netherlands.  There is an art museum on an island in a river in Groningen, the Netherlands.  That museum's eclectic, art collection is much better than all the art in all of Oldenburg's museums.  For example, the island museum has many Warhols.  Some of that museum's best pieces are small objects in display cases in the basement.  The island museum has a men's toilet room-  That room has toilet stalls.  The interiors of the stalls are nice.  They are visually interesting to someone sitting on a toilet.  Every other men's toilet stall interior I've seen anywhere, was drab.  It is fitting that what is possibly the world's only visually interesting, men's toilet stall interior, is in an art museum.
At least one person praised Oldenburg's shopping.  Recall that the advice is being given to people visiting from Berlin, which has great shopping opportunities.  Before I comment on Oldenburg shopping, I shall briefly describe Oldenburg.   I  saw cows grazing, and a farmer's corn filed, in Oldenburg.  I think that the cows and corn field were in Oldenburg.  If not, they were extremely close.  I saw a goat in the side yard of a one-family house in Oldeburg.  While on a sidewalk of a residential street in Oldenburg, I heard a rooster crow.  The rooster was very close although I could not see it.  Once, while going somewhere in Oldenburg, I encountered a flock of sheep in my way.   Gently, I nudged my way through the flock.  One day at home in Oldenburg, I heard much mooing.  I left to find the cow.  It was in a field a block away.
This is the city whose shopping is touted above on this page.  Oldenburg has a department store.  Because of Oldenburg's low population, it lacks many specialized retailers found in larger cities.  For example, Oldenburg does not have an army surplus store.
If I wanted to buy a computer, I would try to buy directly from its non-German manufacturer,  regardless of what is available in local stores.
If I wanted to ask a local hospital to treat me for cancer, the Evangelical hospital would not be at the top of my list.
In general, if a visitor from Berlin can't find what he wants in Oldenburg, he should wait until he returns to Berlin.  If he can't wait, he should shop in Bremen, which is close to Oldenburg.
One poster mentioned Oldeburg's supposedly, vibrant street life.  Oldeburg streets are used to park cars.  They are vast parking lots.  Also, the streets are used for transportation.  I was told that there had been polite begging in the past.  The poster who referred to vibrant street life did not write where and when to see it, or w.t it consists of.  I haven't even seen sedate street life in Oldenburg.
    ...
Above, I comment on others' posts.  Below, I make my own suggestion.
A visitor to Oldenburg may have heard of dikes and levees but never seen one.  There is a levee in Cloppenburg, or possibly it's in south Oldenburg.  There are dikes at the North Sea.  When visiting a levee or dike, it is common to climb to the top, then briefly walk along the top.

  6. --  I'm the original poster.  I got more responses, for which I am grateful.
--  It was suggested that I use good antimalware software and check my computer regularly.  I have been doing that for years.  For example, years ago I got an email message written specifically to me, not a message broad cast to many recipients, which had an attachment my antiviral software showed contained a virus.
--  It was suggested to put a piece of tape over the hat for the computer's factory-installed camera.  I did that immediately after getting the camera.  I know a bit about cameras attached to computers.  Many years ago, before USB I think, I bought a camera, then attached it to a computer so that I could see on the monitor what the camera lens was pointed at.   Then, I did that with a second, different kind of canera instead.  Then, I attached a video camera to a computer.  That camera had a lens allowing me to see on the monitor events far from the camera.  At present, my computer has a second camera installed, a camera in addition to the factory-installed one.  I am now trying to find the name and contact infirmation of the person who installed it.
--  It was suggested that I do a clean install of the OS.  I did that a long time ago, and that included a clean install of the browser.
--  When my computer is not connected to the Internet, a cracker can read what is in the computer.  Maybe the computer was mechanically changed to allow WiFi or other radio entry to te computer by a cracker.  If the camera was mechanically changed, it may have been done by the same person who installed the second camera in it.
--  In my opening post in this thread, I wrote about whether the fake web site was in my computer.  There is no need to have an entire, fake web site in the computer.  The browser might merely have cached, fake pages that a cracker previously had observed thatI use.
--  If all you have is computer expertise, you probably can't help me although I much appreciate your posts, which I carefully read.  If computer expertise alone were enough, I would have posted in a computer forum, not a Germany forum.  The second camera was installed in Oldenburg.  Closely related crimes were done in or near Oldenburg.  In the past, I have sometimes paid computer consultants for their computer expertise.  In this thread, I ask who did these crimes and how, not general information about how.
--  In some legal systems, police confiscate things used to do crimes.  For example, police might confiscate a crowbar used by a burglar to criminally break in.  I want to know who did the crimes to get police to confiscate all computers, and everything else used to do the crimes.  If a building's owner did computer crimes in that building, perhaps police will confiscate that building.  I'm trying to accomplish arrests and confiscations that I think will be done in or near Oldenburg if they are done at all.
--  One person may have modified the computer to allow others to getin, and some of the others may be far from Oldenburg.

  7. Crackers get into my computers.  Below, I provide evidence of this and ask for help.

    ...
Several days ago when I was using Safari to look at the T-online web site, I got a telephone call.  The phone rang but no caller spoke.  Later, I noticed source code ln part of the browser window.  The source code blocked much of the web page I had been viewing.  Clicking the source code accomplished nothing.  I clicked a link on  part of the the web page which was not blocked by the source code.  That click took me to a new page at that site, and the problem was gone.  I saw no more source code.  Very roughly half an hour later, the same problem occurred:  source code blocking part of the web page.  I solved the problem the same way I had solved it earlier, by clicking a link on part of the page not blocked by source code, to go to a different page at the site.

The caller had called me, I simultaneously had two phone connections, one to my ISP and one to the mystery caller.  I guess that the caller then put malware into my computer, and that the source code I saw was from the malware, not from the web page I had been looking at.

When I try to log into T-online using Safari, the home page has a "ZUM LOGIN" link to a separate log in page which requires my user name (not my email address) and password.  When I try with Firefox, the log in information required is email address (not user name) and password, and the information is required on the home page. not on a separate log in page.  With both browsers, I logged in but suspect that at least one of the sites I logged into, perhaps the one I logged into using Safari, is fake.

These versions have been each observed by someone else, who spent hours exploring them.

I guess that the problem source code I had seen twice earlier later caused me to see at least one fake site.  Perhaps the files for the fake web page(s) are somewhere on the web or in my computer.

Notice that there are three phenomena:  the telephone call (which came when I was using Safari online and which I guess introduced malware into my computer), twice seeing source code which blocked the view of web pages, and fake web page(s).  The phone calls have been occurring for years.  I once got an email message about them.  The source code which blocks part of a web page, is new.  I have encountered fake web pages occasionally for as long as I've been in Germany.  They only apear for sites I visit much just before the fake one appears.  I never get a fake version of a real site the first time I ever try to go the real site.  I never get a fake version of a real site when trying to go to a real site I have not been at for months.  If I'm at the same web site for a few hours daily for about three days in a row, especially if I visit that site during normal business hours, I have the highest probability of getting a fake version of that site the fourth day.  I guess that someone somehow learns what sites I visit, perhaps by real-time observation or by reading logs of my web activity.  I guess that the fake version s of sites are in my computer, perhaps in Safari software.

For example, I spent much time for a few, consecutive days at the mailbox.org web site, then encountered a fake version of the mailbox.org site which, among other things, initially did not let me log in.  I sent email to the site to try to resume being able to log in.  I got spoof email, pretending to be from mailbox.org.  The spoof email response did not come from mailbox.org.  I had never been unable to log into the real site (but did not realize that I was at a fake version of the site).

Once, someone told me that the cracker had dared me to report the problem.  I think that reporting the problem may accomplish nothing because other people cannot replicate the problem because their computers lack the malware which causes the fake site to appear.

I think that the problem occurs because of intense hostility to me.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon, a fake version of a real web site (which site perhaps is in the browser's computer rather than really on the web despite the seeming URL which appears in the browser's address bar)?  I guess that one of the pages, probably Safari, is phishing or other misconduct directed at me.

I called T-online support two days ago.  I got a German-speaking person.  I asked him if he knows English.  He briefly answered in English that he didn't.  Then I heard a recording in English.  I waited.  Suddenly, the connection went silent and stayed silent.

I called again.  Normally, when one waits for T-online support, one frequently hears an appropriate message over the phone, then eventually talks with a support person.  However, when I called support after the silence problem, I was never able to reach a tech support person.  Each time I called, I connected to T-online but later got some kind of signal that clearly indicated that something had gone wrong with the connection, perhaps some kind of busy signal or disconnect signal.  I called yesterday and got that signal again.  Before the past two days, I was always able to talk with a tech support person at T-online.  I mention the unusual telephone support problem (the problem being that, except for my first call, it was impossible to reach a tech support person) because it may be a clue.  The cause of the browser problem may prevent me from reaching both my web account, and the phone problem prevents me from reaching the same company's tech support people by phone.

Does anyone know what caused the Safari-Firefox discrepancy and how I should respond to it?  I guess that T-online is not causing the problem.

A similar browser discrepancy exists at Google's gmail.  If I use Safari to the page to change my password, thatpage is blank, preventing me from changing my password.  If I go the page withFirefox, the page is correctly displayed and I can change my pasword.  This discrepancy should not exist.

    ...

I used to have problems uploading a certain text file by ftp; then, later, uploading a certain graphics file.  The file would be uploaded but someone would not stay.  I t changed the name of each slightly, which solved the problem.  I think that there is or was a malware script in my computer or destination directory, and the script caused the problem.

    ...

I think that it is possible for crackers, if they know when I am working on a computer, to introduce files into it, and to read or copy files in it when I am not connected to the Internet.  I am certain that they can do this when I am connected to the Internet.  I don't know how it is done.  Perhaps Bluetooth or Airport is active although my computer indicates that they are not active.  Perhaps there is a cell phone in my computer and criminals can reach my computer through that phone.

Perhaps my computer has a remote access server which I don't know about.  I can't find one and I've tried to block access to any clients of such a server.  Such a server would nicely explain the seeming ease with which crackers can observe my computer and put files into it.

I think that, with one of my computers, crackers can observe what is in front of the computer.  The computer is on a table.  I think that crackers can see what is on the part of table in front of the computer even when the computer is not online.  I don't know if the computer has to be turned on.  I put tape over a spot on the video monitor to try to block FaceTime.  That didn't work.  Maybe there is a second FaceTime which uses a different spot on the monitor.  Maybe the observing camera has nothing to do with FaceTime.

    ...

Are there two drivers in the computer, one for me and one for crackers?

    ...

I don:t think that passwords protect my computer much.  Perhaps my computer has a secret administrator account which I don't know about, and crackers know its password.

There are some times of the day when it seems to be far more likely that crackers will observe what is in my computer.

    ...

Did a vendor sabotage me?  Was I sold a sabotaged product or service?  These are true questions, not accusations.

    ...

Once, while I was flying from Boston to Frankfurt, while the plane seemed to be over Europe, someone told me that a passenger had said three things about me, which my source repeated to me.    Most people would consider two of those things severely derogatory.  My source pointed out the speaker to me.  Later, another person came to me, seemingly believing, or at least hoping, that one of the three statements was true.  The young, white man accused of making the statements seemed to be traveling alone.  I did not recognize him.  He looked physically fit.  His seat was closer to the front of the plane, and to the right of the plane, than mine.  I vaguely guessßremember that he had an aisle seat.

In Germany, I took a course.  With only one exception I shall now write, I never saw anyone in the room for that course except the teacher and students taking that course.  I customarily waited in a hallway near the classroom until class was about to begin, then entered the classroom.  One day, despite my custom, I entered the classroom much earlier than my usual entry time.  A woman whom I had never seen before or after, made a severely derogatory statement about me to a female student with whom I often chatted in the classroom.  The statement was not one one of the three statements about me which had been made to the plane's cabin crew.  The denouncer then left the room.  Perhaps it was a coincidence that the listener was one of the few students with whom I often chatted.

    ...

Occasionally, I get information about the computer crackers who cause problems for me.

Once, I got what seemed to be a letter from a Scottish city's police department, on what seemed to be that department's letterhead.  The letter concerned a thoroughly documented crime done by an Internet domain registrar in Britain.  Later, someone else told me that the letter was fake.  I have reason to believe that the letter was fake.  I do not know if the supposedly counterfeit letter, or the subject that the letter dealt with, is related to the fake web sites problem.

I was told that my malefactor is Russian, which I guess means someone in Germany who either is from Russia or is a Russian-speaking immigrant to Germany.  I don't know if the statement, that the person is Russian, is true.

In America, just before my last trip from America to Germany, I was warned in a kind way that I would receive severe mistreatment in Germany.

In the small town in which I live in Germany, I often have been hostilely told to go.  The most common places I have been told to go are away, home, Israel, and Spain.  A few, friendly people in Germany have suggested to me that it might be better for me if I left.

    ...

A few people have told me that I would get less mistreatment if I commmunicated nice things about Germany or my town in Germany.  I think that that advice is because the motive of some of my enemies is a desire to help Germany or their town, combined with their belief that I am a liability of, not a helper of, Germany and their town.

Angela Merkel recently spoke about the NSA having tapped her phone calls.  She did not say that it is unusual to electronically violate privacy in Germany. If I correctly remember what I heard about her remarks, she complained that America, an ally, had violated her privacy.  Perhaps, if I praise Germany or Niedersachsen's Oldenburg, the crackers will think of me as their ally.

    ...

I could have posted this message in a computer forum instead of a German forum.  I am trying to find out
        (1)  the criminals' names, street addresses, and other contact information,
        (2)  the computer techniques they use,
        (3)  whether any of the criminals have ever sold me any products or services,
        (4)  how I should respond and defend myself.

I want to completely solve the crimes and harassment, and be able to give a detailed, factual report to police.  I guess that at least some of the criminals are in or near Niedersachsen's Oldenburg, which is the main reason I post in this forum.

Do you know something I might appreciate learning?

  8. I am denkyo, the original poster.  I learned from kato about key policy and about "H" and "D" doors.  Kato taught what tor guessed about the low light switch.  I thank tor and kato for their answers and fraufruit for her praise.

There are a total of four posts including mine.  To the far right of each pos, there is a small heart icon and a number.  My number is -1.  The other three posters each have zero.  What is that number?  Is that the evaluation we get from others?  Have I been evaluated as -1?

  9. Germany has two Oldenburg towns, a small one and a tiny one. The small one is in Niedersachsen, northwest of Bremen and south of East Frisia. In or just north of the small Oldenburg's Zentrum, at or near a place phonetically spelled Am Lappan, there is a pedestrians-only shopping area which has, among many other stores, a Saturn store. What if one needs to go to the toilet when in that shopping area?

There are no signs pointing in the direction of the toilets. Go to the large, irregularly shaped, parking level under the shopping area. On the parking level, there are no signs pointing to the toilets. Search patiently. You'll eventually find a toilet door. If you keep searching, you'll find another toilet door. One door is marked to indicate that it is for a toilet area for people in a wheelchair. The times when I have tested that door, it has been locked or perhaps jammed shut. The other door opens if one puts in coins. Then, one enters a narrow hall. Beware, there is one step in the hall a little after entering. In the hall, one sees two doors, an "H" door and a "D" door. Normally in Germany in such places, there are internationally recognized, male and female silhouettes or complete words such as Herren and Damen. Using just "H" and "D" is consisten with the policy of no signs to point toward the toilets, a minimal information policy.

There is a light switch in the hall to turn the hall light on or off. The switch is about the distance from the floor of where the hands of a woman or short man are while that person is standing. Normally, on-off light switches on a wall require an adult to lift his hand. This one doesn't. A German man of normal height would have to lower his hand slightly, not raise it, to operate the light switch. Once, I left through the hall while another man entered through the hall. Each of us, to minimize brushing against the other, brushed against the wall nearest him. As As I brushed against the wall nearest me, my hand brushed against the light switch, inadvertently turning the light off, so we were in the dark. I instantly realized what had happened, found the switch in the dark, and turned the light back on. Luckily, neither of us tripped over the step in the dark. This is the only wall, light switch I've encountered which does not require lifting one's hand to operate.

Midgets have much trouble with on-off light switches on walls. Midgets find a chair, bring it to the switch, climb on the chair, then turn the light on or off. This is a nuisance for them. I think that midgets would appreciate the height of that hall's light switch. I cannot guess why the switch is so low in the toilet area hall. I guess that it is not low to help midgets.

Early in this post, I mention Saturn. I mention Saturn solely to specify the place I'm discussing. I guess that Saturn is a mere tenant with no power over toilet signs or public areas of the mall.

  10. If one ignores price, I think that T-Online is Germany's best ISP. I dislike long contracts. T-O offers shorter contracts than most landline ISPs, AFAIK. T-O has tech support by phone available many hours weekly. I don't know if other ISPs have tech support by phone available for as many hours weekly. Congstar, a no-frills reseller of a Deutsche Telekom connection to the Internet, merely has email tech support. T-O provides a broad variety of Internet services. It is not merely an ISP.

A 2004 thread related to this one is:

"Internet Providers in Germany - not T-Online!

    e.g. Greennet, or QSC"

    http://www.toytowngermany.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1671

T-O once provided English language, tech support by phone calling that service "English Team." According to the 2004 thread, Greennet.de speaks English at lest to help new customers connect. I don't know if Greennet still exists. The 2004 thread praised QSC as an ISP.

I guess that T-O gets many complaints because of my Internet activity. T-O has continues to provide service to me.

  11. I am in Germany and my computer is in Germany. However, the problem is not specific to Germany.

I request help changing passwords. I restart the computer while pressing the apple key and R key, then I go to Utilities/Terminal, then I enter the resetpassword command, then a widow opens which lets me change a user's password. When I use this system, some characters, which should be acceptable in the password, are not permitted in the password. For example, some letters of the English alphabet can't be used as characters of the password. If I type those unacceptable characters (for example, a vowel which the computer will not accept), it is as if I had not typed that character. For further example, if I type a new password with eight characters, and the inacceptable character is the fourth character, the computer will have a seven-character password with the unacceptable character missing, as of I had not typed it. My keyboard works perfectly. This is not a keyboard problem. Those unacceptable characters can be used perfectly well in a new password if I change to that password using the Users and Groups preference panel in the System Preferences group of preference panels. There are only several, unacceptable characters. They are not always the same, I think. I think, but am not certain, that this problem was not in the computer when the computer was new. A workaround is to change passwords the normal way, by using the Users and Groups preference panel. However, I don't want to settle for a workaround. How can I eliminate the unacceptable characters problem?

  12. It is common to send money directly from one euroland bank account directly to a bank account ir Germany with a short message. For example, the message may include an invoice number consisting of digits and upper case letters.

What characters are permitted in a messge accompanying a payment arrriving at a bank account in Germany? For example, are ampersand, colon, slash, and period permitted? I guess that lower case letters, Cyrillic letters, and Greek letters are not permitted. Is there a web page which lists permitted characters?

  13. I started this thread. I am the O.P. The first two cards didn't work despite being safely stored in a plastic. protective holder. The third EC card arrived. An earlier card could transfer money out but not find the account balance. The third card can find the balance but not transfer money out. I was told that, when a transfer was attempted, the ATM machine gave a German message that means "technical difficulty." I was told that a teller explained that the problem was in the bank, not the card, and was caused by the bank's conversion of something.

  14. I posted the original post, the beginning of this thread. I thank all of you very much for your prompt, excellent responses. The people who responded, and this forum, are great. I learned much by reading the responses. The problem EC cards were stored in a protective, plastic holder seemingly designed to protect an EC cardor a credit card. A bank supplied the card-holder, explicitly suggesting that the holder be used to safely store an EC card. I guess that the holder protects well. If the third EC card, which has not yet arrived, is defective, it may be appropriate to set up a new account, a possible measure mentioned by pog451. Again, I thank all of you very much.

  15. I have two topics.

First, I have a question about an EC card, what Americans call a bank ATM card. I am ignorant of this subject and would appreciate expert comments. A bank customer had an EC card which suddenly stopped working in the issuing bank. The card did not open the bank's door to permit the customer to enter the bank. When the customer entered at a time when the card was not needed to enter the bank, the card did not work in the ATM machine. The card did nothing in the issuing bank. The card worked perfectly in a different bank, not the issuing bank. The customer asked the issuing bank for help. The bank staff suggested getting a new card, hich the customer did. The new card worked perfectly until one Sunday, when it could not be used for most purposes. After the customer entered the pin, the ATM machine merely permitted withdrawal of funds, either by withdrawing cash or by traanferring money to a different bank. The ATM maching could not be used for any other purpose. For example, the ATM card could not be used to find out how much money was in the account. A bank employee witnessed this. The card worked perfectly at a different bank, not the issuing bank. The issuing bank's staff suggested getting a third card, which the customer applied for. The third card has not yet arrived. I did not directly observe these facts but learned them from a reliable source. I am highly ignorant of these cards and the related bank computer systems but it seems that the problem is with the issuing bank's computer software, not the card. I would be grateful to know what an expert, or at least what someone who knows more than I do, thinks about the cause of this problem. Also, how often does an EC card not work at all in the issuing bank but work percectly in a different bank? How often does an EC card, when used at the issuing bank enable withdrawal but not enable the customer to learn how much money he has in the bank? So much for my first topic.

I have a second topic, which has nothing to do with EC cards or banks. I think, but am not certain, that, a few years ago, Ebay provided cover to the CIA.

  16. I appreciate the many, frank responses I got. No one wrote that it would be fruitful for me to contact TD. For example, one poster wrote "... Telekom will laugh at you ...." No one wrote that one report method is most likely to be productive with TD. It was common to question whether the described problem exists or a TD employee is involved. Some people want me to present my evidence and analysis.

  17. Crackers try to interfere with my Internet activity, get malware into my computer, and find out what is in my computer. I suspect that at least one of them may be a Telekom Deutschland employee. Will TD attack the crackers or otherwise help me? I can call TD customer sertvice, which normally is very helpful, by phone but I think that the person speaking to me will merely tell me that he has not received any information about this. I could write a lettter to TD customer service, send an email message to customer service, or report this in a web forum operated by TD for its customers. I don't want to discuss the matter in detail because I don't want to tell the criminal how much I know. Does any of you know a reporting method that has been effective in the past or that that TD prefers? Do I have a remedy and, if so, what is it?

  18. I clicked a deaktivieren link, which brought me to a deaktivieren page which described deactivation. That page does not have a unique URL and is not listed in the A-Z help index. At the bottom of the deactivation page, I clicked a button to deactivate. That brought me to a confirmation page which had a buttom to confirm deactivation. Clicking that brought me to a completion page, which ended my deactivation work. The email message refers to my Anfrage (question) but, on the Web, I had made an order or gave a request for deactivation. That email message does not seem to be a response to the deactivation work I had done on the Web. The email message does not say that deactivation will ever occur. The message does not say that deactivation will occur in 14 days. In the email message, there is no link to click to confirm that I want deactivation. I do not yet have the email message from freenet which would allow me to confirm that I want to deactivate. On 3 September 2011, I started trying to deactivate. More than a week has passed and I gave not yet received the confirmation email message. In the responses posted in Toytown, an English translation of one response included, "Are not one or more conditions are satisfied, please e-mail a message and a list of reasons why the deactivation is not possible (eg "you use a paid product (freenetSingles Plus), you must cancel prior to deactivation." ).". This may be a cause of the problem. First, I must cancel the paid email service. After cancellation is complete, I must deactivate the account.

  19. As far as I know, I did everything on the Web that I should do. I clicked a deaktivieren link, which brought me to a deaktivieren page which described deactivation. That page does not have a unique URL and is not listed in the A-Z help index. At the bottom of the deactivation page, I clicked a button to deactivate.
