  2. 3G in Restaurants?

The spreading via surfaces is also not significant in comparison to airborne.
  3. What made you smile today?

George Clooney turned down a $35 million paycheck for...one day‘s work.    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.today.com/today/amp/tdna242094   Yeah, I wouldn‘t get up for that kind of money too 🤑.
  4. German Housing Market in 2021 - Where is it going?

What about the garden gnomes? They sound like perfect candidates for such garden dwellers!😂
  5. What made you laugh today?

I realise I have just greened a post by 2B or not 2B from 2010! Whatever happened to him?😧
  6. 3G in Restaurants?

Anyway, with or without restaurants, a simple question. After all this time, and it is wintery, is it safe for me to finally pick my nose? Asking for a non-existent friend..😟😂
  7. What made you laugh today?

    I like pidoop!😂

  9. BREXIT positives and negatives

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-59547054   The comments are the most amusing part. There are hardly any people readily admitting to voting leave any more. It's like admitting to being a Gary Glitter fan or something.
  10. German Housing Market in 2021 - Where is it going?

Yeah but I wouldn't confuse "house not worth much" with "land worth a bloody fortune". If they can afford to demolish the existing house it's quite likely because the land is so valuable that it's financially more sensible to maximise the use of said land.
  11. Van run: UK->DE

I'm doing another van run soon (Dec '21), Kent, UK to Berlin, with some spare room.   Price/cost share dependent on what's carried and locations.   Message me for details.
  12. 3G in Restaurants?

Who knows? That poster seems to be fumigating everything as they walk in the door… So, yeah…    For the record, I’m all for washing hands and disinfecting my phone, keys and wallet, but I am not wiping down everything from the supermarket. If my mind is overly obsessed with cleaning everything, then I cannot be productive. My bills don’t care if I wiped down the pasta box I bought at Lidl.
  13. yeah, but that period of time is variable and can be as little as 30 days. For a bit longer times and if you shop around you even get a mini interest payment.   between finding a property and finally  getting the written permission from the Notar to make the transfer it’s more than one month anyway. More likely two or three. There’s  plenty of time to retrieve the money from wherever.
  14. Cheddar cheese from Lidl and elsewhere

Found it today. Staked my claim too...
  15. More likely Tagesgeld would be suitable - in a Festgeld Konto the money is er - fest for a period of time.   With Tagesgeld you can get your hands on the money anytime (wise to check the Terms & Conditions).
  16. This week we have a Toytown reservation for 7:30 pm at Safran, Steinstr 79 81667  München.    Nearest station: All S-Bahn´s  Rosenheimerplatz and 15,25 tram   Only sign up if you can supply proof you fully vaccinated OR recovered from Corona OR have an up-to-date negative test. 1. ex-essex (Paul) 2.    Please copy/paste the last list into the reply and add your name As Soon As Possible, at the latest 5 pm Wednesday.
  17. What made you laugh today?

Actually my mother claimed to have taught Julie Andrews at school - for a few weeks (months) only during teaching practice...
  18.   the first two questions a financial advisor will ask are: when do you need the money, and what risk are you willing to take. When the answers are I don’t know and none, well, it’s not they’ll be able to conjure 10% yearly gains out of nothing.   the Festgeldkonto is for this case a good option.
  19. Maybe because it's a shitty fraudulent supplier? You somehow thought you could magically find a cheap supplier? If they can't even produce a VAT number, how do you think they will provide technical support and warranty?
  20. 3G in Restaurants?

Unless you agreed with her comments; then she'd be ok.
  21. German Housing Market in 2021 - Where is it going?

Best not to reckon on inheriting the house, nobody knows what might happen in 30-40 years. I saw some nice detached houses pulled down near me, they looked nice from outside but I think they were not so beautiful inside. New dwellings were built on the plots. An unmodernised house may not be worth much.
  22. Meanwhile, property ain't getting any cheaper.
  23. What's got you flummoxed today?

No problem... I have just the job search site for some of them:   My local newspaper has a report about an German site for the unvaccinated looking for work.   Some famous named companies are gearing up to sue as they appear to have job offers on the site, but didn't actually upload or pay for the adverts.   OK it's called impffrei dot work   Flummoxed again
  24. No. Over a time frame of five years the chance of losing money with a diversified stock ETF like one building the SP500 index is historically less than 10%, and the upward much higher than the risk. Compare with the certainty of losing 3% to inflation and fees every year for a total loss of 14%.   obviously, two months are not three years, but you remind me of some people I know with €200,000 sitting in their accounts since many years waiting for the right house.   Personally, we remain fully invested and sold stock just before the Notar appointment. We took some risk (3 times!) but that’s life.
  25. Financial options for expensive dental procedures?

At the time about 3 years. Perhaps 4. I remember a 8 month period when I couldn't put any expense and perhaps 2 years until a crown.
