Munich's first ever Whisky Festival took place at the Praterinsel in Febuary 2005. Since then it has become an annual event.
The most recent festival was the weekend of 9th to 11th March, 2007 at Arabella Sheraton Grand hotel. The next festival will likely be February or March 2008. The venue is not yet known.
Available at the festival are over 60 brands of whisky from Scotland, Ireland, and America will be exhibited. The outer festival tents will feature whisky tasting and live music. Entrance to these is free. The inner areas will host a trade fair. The fair is open to all but entrance costs €15 per day. This includes 4 whisky tasting vouchers (2cl each) and access to the various talks, presentations, and discussion tables.
