U5
The U5 is a line on the U-Bahn, Munich's underground rail network. The line has been opened in sections between 1984 and 1988; only the stretch from Innsbrucker Ring to Neuperlach Süd has been opened yet in 1980 as part of another subway line.The U5 runs west to south-east, from Laimer Platz to Neuperlach Süd.
The U5 line is coloured dark yellow on the network map.
The stations are: Laimer Platz, Friedenheimer Str., Westendstraße, Heimeranplatz, Schwanthalerhöhe, Theresienwiese, Hauptbahnhof, Karlsplatz (Stachus), Odeonsplatz, Lehel, Max-Weber-Platz, Ostbahnhof, Innsbrucker Ring, Michaelibad, Quiddestraße, Neuperlach Zentrum, Therese-Giehse-Allee, Neuperlach Süd.
Further extension westwards to Pasing is planned but not likely to be built in the next 10 years.
