Toastmaster International is a worldwide non-profit organization to enhance public-speaking skills. It has been founded during the twentieth in the USA and grew over time up to over 9000 clubs and more than 200.000 members worldwide.

While Toastmasters in Germany started as an American heritage, nowadays Toastmasters in Munich are adding their own bavarian german flavor and enjoy one of the most active and various toastmaster communities in Europe. In Munich you find Clubs using English, German, either (dubbed Business Germish / Denglish), French or Italian during their club meetings.

Munich Toastmasters have been mentioned in Sueddeutsche several times, the last article was about an evaluation of the Lord mayor candidates [1]

Most clubs meet regularly twice a month. All Toastmasters meetings follow the same agenda worldwide, there is no dedicated trainer, but different roles (Speaker, evaluator, impromptu speeches, a-counter, timer...) to be taken by the club members.

Toastmasters is a great opportunity to improve or maintain your active language abilities. Given the international presence, Toastmasters is a valuable networking opportunity as well.
