The Bookshelf is an English-language lending library. They are located at Blumenstraße 36, Munich. This is around the back of the Alt Katholische Kirche at Sendlinger Tor.
They have all kinds of English books including bestsellers, classics, travel guides, children's books, history, biographies, and a large collection of mysteries/suspense. The Bookshelf has books in English only!
They are open on Mon, Wed and Fri from 3 pm to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 11 am - 3 pm. Evening hours are Mon 6pm to 8pm.
Membership at the library is €42 per year, which equates to a mere €3.50 per month. Books are lent out for one month and you can borrow up to eight books at a time. A trial four month membership is also available for €25.
Once a month there is a children's story hour.
The library accepts book donations during opening hours and is always looking for volunteers.
