Tegernsee
The Tegernsee is a freshwater lake about one hour drive south of Munich. The town on the lake shore is also called Tegernsee.This is a popular holiday destination with facilities for skiing in the winter, mostly cross country, and mountain hiking or boat tripping in the summer.
Mountain bike and running marathons often take place here. The route is usually one circuit around the lake.
The Bayerische Oberlandbahn travels between Munich and Tegernsee.
