Summer street festivals

Every Summer there are 40 to 50 small-scale summer street festivals held in various districts of the city. During these "Strassenfests", which usually happen on a Saturday, a whole street is closed to traffic. The local bars and restaurants set up tables, benches, and food and drink stalls. At some of the larger street festivals there are live bands and other entertainments. You already missed the big Streetlife Festival which was on Leopoldstraße the second weekend in June. But there are plenty more festivals coming up in July and August. And the Streetlife Fest will even make a return at the beginning of September. Leopoldstrassenfest - The Streetlife Festival on Leopoldstraße in Schwabing
Takes place twice a year, the second being first weekend of September - see below.

Neuhausen: 3 separate festivals at Menzingerstrasse (in front of the Nymphenburger Schloss), Frundsbergstraße, and Jutatraße

Internationales Sommerfest in Westpark with Folklore and bands on the lakeside.

Altschwabinger Wirtefest on Occamstraße - This is usually a good one! With live bands. Will be postponed to Saturday 31st July if the weather is bad.
