Store conveyor belt etiquette is a topic of considerable concern to residents of Munich. At issue is the question of who is responsible for placing the bar to divide your shopping from that belonging to the next customer. The correct etiquette is quite simple, and is as follows:

Always place the bar both in front of your shopping and behind

Sometimes the customer in front of you will have adopted the same etiquette and thus save you from the tremendous strain of placing two bars. In this case you only need to place one bar, namely the one behind your goods.

A second rule of thumb is as follows:

If another customer does not comply with correct etiquette, forgive them for they know not what they do

Do not get angry at other customers. This will only cause Ärger and you will grow old faster.
