Sigi Sommer was a journalist and author. He died sometime in the mid-1990's but is fondly remembered by Munich residents and still appears in the local newspapers on a regular basis.
A brass statue of him is to be seen on Rosenstrasse, outside the Schüster sports store next to Marienplatz.
