Services wanted adverts

Services wanted adverts are private ads posted to the chat forum. The advert author is generally seeking some kind of service provider such as a painter and decorator, or an electrician, a plumber, or a lawyer.

These types of ads, however, are mostly futile.

If someone is seeking a lawyer, it is not productive to post to the Internet saying, "I am seeking a lawyer, please get in touch". No lawyer will read the advert. That is simply not how life works.

Instead, to find a lawyer, the best course of action is to look up lists of lawyers in the telephone directory and pick one that looks suitable. Alternatively, look at the TT advertised lawyers and read the reviews of other lawyers as recommended by TT members, and pick one that way.

The above applies not just for lawyers, but for all kinds of services. For example carpenters, mechanics, window repairs, and so on.
