Record stores
There are a number of
record stores in Munich which sell vinyl, both new and second-hand. There are not many such stores, but there are a few.
Still in business
- There is one around the corner from The Arc on tram line 27 in Schwabing. The name escapes me now. It also has 45's.
- Optimal - http://www.echtoptimal.de/
- Resonanz - LP´S CD´S, Auenstr. 4, 80469 München, next door to "Cafe Frenzy" near Fraunhoferstraße.
- Phonix - Fraunhoferstraße 26, Munich Isarvorstadt, Di-Fr 15-19 hrs, Sa 11-16 hrs, Tel.: 089 20209966 - some awesome stuff there (alternative 80s). Lots of LPs and CDs, vera decent prices. They buy collections too.
- musicandbooks.de - http://www.musicandbooks.de/
- Saturn - yes, they have vinyl. If your looking for the doors, hendrix & pearl jam then I would recommend Saturn at the Theriesenhöhe ...they have repressings in of classic rock on a 120 / 140 gramm vinyl specifically aimed at collectors. also the Saturn on Kaufingerstraße has a section though somewhat smaller ... they even do special vinyl box sets too. the only real disadvantage is there's no decks to play these back on ...
Closed and disappeared
- Bam Bam Records at Ledererstraße 10 - near the Hofbräuhaus - was mostly dance, RnB, and electronica. Close sometime around 2004/5. Owner was a guy called Suat. http://www.bambam-records.de/
- Parasound - Hesseloherstraße 8, 80802 Munich Schwabing, Tel.: 089/335051, alex@parasound-munich.de - http://www.parasound-munich.de - close sometime around 2003.
Online record stores
- For dance go to: http://www.juno.co.uk/ - better than any record store.
External pages
- A list of ~20 record stores in Munich: rollingstone.de / record stores - note that this is somewhat out-of-date and a number of the stores listed have since closed.
