One of the best things about living in Munich during the Summer is the open air cinemas. From mid-June until the end of August there are number of different cinemas all showing films under open skies. In the Westpark, on the banks of the lake, is the Kino Mond und Sterne. This is hugely popular and the evenings usually have quite a party atmosphere. Most of the films are in German. Two which will be shown in English are Bowling for Columbine (28th June) and Lost in Translation (5th July). On Königsplatz there is the Kino Open Air which will show films from 27th July til 2nd August. And finally, Go Muenchen also organise the Kino am Pool series. Films are shown at 5 different open air swimming pools, in turn, for about a week each. The pools are: Schyrenbad, Dantebad, Westbad, Michaelibad, Ungerebad.
