New in the City
New in the City is a magazine and guidebook for newcomers to the city of Munich. The magazine originated in Munich, and the publishing headquarters are still located there. Subsequently, editions for Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt/Main have also come into print. The magazines for each each region are published once a year. All pages are printed in two languages: English and German. They are available to buy at most newsagents around town. The cover price is around €7.
New in the City also used to publish a monthly edition for Munich in newspaper format. This was called New in the City TODAY and was available for free to collect various outlets - eg. cinemas, Irish pubs, etc. There were 10 editions per year - they skipped August and January for the summer and winter holidays respectively. The newspaper was published throughout the latter half of 2004 and all of 2005. Since then it seems to have gone out of print.
