Neuperlach
Neuperlach is an area of
Munich. It is within the Ramersdorf-Perlach administrative district on the south side of city. Most of it has been built in the 1970's.
Neuperlach is generally considered one of the least desirable places in Munich to live, along with
Hasenbergl. Many non-German foreigners live here. Having said that, it is not necessarily all
that undesirable when compared to other cities worldwide. It is still relatively safe and well kept.
As Neuperlach is primarily residential it is well served by supermarkets such as
Aldi and
Lidl and lacks some of the bustle of areas closer to the centre of Munich. The
Perlacher Einkaufszentrum, a large shopping complex similar to the
Olympia Einkaufszentrum, is located at Neuperlach-Zentrum.
The area is served by several U-Bahn stations. Quiddestraße, Neuperlach Zentrum, Therese-Giehse-Allee and Neuperlach Süd are sequential stops on the U5 U-Bahn line. Buses nrs. 55, 139, 192, 195, 196, 197, 198 and 199 run from most of these stations and the S6 S-Bahn can be caught from Neuperlach Süd. Siemens have a large office complex here.
