Munich Irish Rovers Football Club

The Munich Irish Rovers Football Club e.V. has over 70 active members drawn from the Irish community and 15 other nationalities from in and around Munich. They are always looking for new members and new faces are always welcome either at training or the kickabouts.

The Rovers currently run four teams of varying standard:

Facilities

The Rovers have the full use of facilities at the community sports park in Parkstadt Solln in the south of Munich and at Siemenspark, Obersendling.

Training dates

Training is held twice a week; Wednesday and Friday: 7pm - 9pm. Training takes place at Parkstadt Solln. League games are normally played on Sundays at the same location. Kick-off for home matches is 12:45pm for the 2nd team and 2:30pm for the 1st team.

The ladies team train every Wednesday: 7pm - 9pm. Training takes place at Siemenspark. The ladies team are entered in a 7-a-side league. Home matches will be played at Graubündenerstraße. Home matches kick-off on Saturdays at 15:30.

History

The club, though its roots go as far back as March 1986, was officially founded on May 7th 1995. The Munich Irish Rovers FC is registered with the BFV (Bavarian Football Association) and the BLSV (Bavarian State Sports Association). On June 8th 2001 the members voted to have the club registered - the club now officially has "e.V." added to its name.
