New in town and trying to meet people? Welcome to TT. Now don't just post about it, show up somewhere!

Following text originally taken from New to Munich and/or this here TT website?, Then read this first!

If you are looking to meet other English speakers in Munich, either for going out drinking, dancing, eating out, sport, cinema, lesbian group sex, or whatever else you're interested in, then take a look at the following two areas of the site:

Weekly Wednesday Indian Curry Night - this is one of the more popular and most enduring of the TT-organised meetups. If you like Indian food this event is one to check out. Bring along your appetite and your good humour and it will almost certainly be a fun evening.

What is the "TT Tuesday Drinks" evening? - this event happens almost every week. It takes place at a different bar or beer garden each time. Some weeks it is quiet with only 3 or 4 attendees, some weeks the numbers can swell to 50. It's fairly random and there's no predicting which weeks will be the big ones. There are a few regular attendees. There is a larger number of people who attend only once in a while. Top tip: if it looks like being a busy night then booking the following Wednesday morning off work is generally a good idea.

Events and Meetups - if you see nothing of interest, start something new yourself, don't be shy! If you invite everyone to a bar, or a beer garden, or out to a restaurant, then it is likely that a few people will come. Remember to give sufficient warning, 4 to 5 days is good. And be decisive about a time and location. It's no good posting "I haven't decided a date, time, or location yet", because that doesn't give anyone anything to respond to. For more tips, read this: So you wanna organise your own event? Tips and tricks for making it a success.

Interests Matrix - this page aims to connect all members of the TT forum who share similar interests. The software behind this page is fairly basic, and the user interface may be a little confusing. But it is enough to give an idea of who is interested in what activities.

Maybe you wanna post a quick introduction about yourself to the TT newcomer introductions page. But don't feel obliged to. Some people do post something, many people don't.

PS: Oy and in terms of acclimating to life in germany and to TT, I think the must read thread for newbies is worth a looksee.

PPS: of course don't forget the usual non-tt strategies of joining clubs and vereine for your interests. Germans too play chess and build model trains and play basketball.
