Lurker

In Internet culture, a lurker is a person who reads discussions on a message board, newsgroup, chatroom or other interactive system, but rarely participates.

On the Toytown Germany website there are approximately three times as many registered member lurkers as there are active posting members. For the exact statistics see: active members.

In addition to lurkers who are registered members, there are additionally many more readers of the website who are unregistered. It is impossible to measure the exact number of unregistered readers of a website. It is estimated, however, that there are around ten times as many unregistered lurkers on this website as there are active members. This gives a total regular readership of around 10,000 people - "regular" means reading the site at least once every three months.
