Long Night of the Museums
Once a year the city of Munich is transformed when more than 75 museums, galleries and institutions fling their doors open for the sixth consecutive
"Die Lange Nacht der Muenchner Museen" (The Long Night of Munich Museums). Live music entertains the crowds as they meander through the streets of the city, seeking to catch a glimpse of special exhibitions and a touch of culture under the stars. Be one of the first to tour the Neues Rathaus and its magnificent assembly hall, library and the glockenspiel. Or visit the newly renovated Museum Villa Stuck on Prinzregentenstraße to admire both the breathtaking Jugendstil architecture and the Shanghai Modern and Stadt des Jugendstils exhibitions.

Even the stock market will trade in its beloved stocks and bonds on this night to auction off pieces of art made by children for educational charities.
For the scientific ones among us, the Forum am Deutschen Museum offers the rare chance to look behind the scenes of the planetarium and watch extracts of the most successful laser and planetarium shows. Or try your luck at the Museum Reich der Kristalle raffle, where the prize is an actual rock from the moon.
Humor the child inside and head over to the Muenchner Feuerwehrmuseum, which will exhibit historical fire trucks especially for this event. Moonlight walks at midnight are a must for romantics in the old Botanical Gardens, where the Kunst Pavillon Alter Botanischer Garten is having a special kaleidoscope projection every hour after 20:00.
Or listen to the ancient myths and legends of the city as you take a tour through Munich with the Weisser Stadtvogel Muenchen.
For the after party, head over to Die Registratur, whiteBOX / Kultfabrik, Aktionsforum Praterinsel or Hotel Bayerische Hof - Night Club, which will pay homage by creating artistic atmospheres.
