Members of the TT chat forum tend to progress through various stages as their time since first registration goes on. Some progress through the stages faster than others, but generally the pattern is as follows...

Clueless Newbie

Less than 4 days old:

TT? Huh? Have scanned the site. Didn't see much of interest. Have heard folks gossiping about it. Didn't really care to understand what they were on about. Nahhh! I don't think this is relevant to my life.

Excited Virgin

Less than two weeks old:

Oh my God. This website contains sooo much information. Everything from where to buy pickled mudfish, replacement refrigerator glass, or two-piece plastic easter eggs, to how to get a Brazilian beach wax or which pubs are best for getting laid. And so many people too! Over 50 other excited virgins at the newbie meetup last night. Yeah, this is gonna be fun!

The Addict

Less than 5 months old:

How did I ever live without TT? I spend over two hours per day clicking the "view new posts" link. I get an adrenaline rush whenever there are more than 10 new topics and a flood of disappointment when there are none. Addicts often suffer from postage diarrhea.

The Disillusioned

Less than 18 months old:

TT isn't like it used to be. Back in the day when I joined everyone was intelligent and funny. All members agreed with my point of view and moderators never deleted my posts. Now the site is full of ignorants who can't spell and who believe in fate and aliens and other wacky stuff. The topics were more gripping than my favourite soap opera. Now they're all dull and over-moderated.

A disillusioned member will occasionally make clear their disillusionment by announcing that they are leaving the forum for good. This is termed a flounce and is usually met with ridicule by other members.

Post Disillusionment - Road to Recovery

Less than two years old:

OK. So TT is "just a website" and I realise that it. It existed just fine before I came along, and it will continue to exist after I leave. Sometimes there are nuggets of useful info in there. Sometimes I meet a cool new person, sometimes there are others I can't stand. I've learnt to accept it for what it is and to roll with it.

TT Jedi

Greater than 2 years:

At one with the force.
