Gasteig
The Gasteig is a building in Haidhausen, just across the river from Ludwigsbrücke. It was built in 1984 as cultural center.It is the home of the Munich Volkshochschule, the adult education center. Also the central and largest branch of the city public library, with the city's main collection of English-language books, as well as concert venues.
