Frankfurt (Hahn) Airport is a former US Air Force base that has become a major hub for Ryanair, with over forty European destinations served. It is also a major freight terminal. It is located close to the towns of Kirchberg and Simmern, close to the Mosel and Eiffel regions.
Despite its name, Frankfurt-Hahn is situated some 130km west of Frankfurt (by road). There is no rail link to the airport, but there is an hourly bus service from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof via Frankfurt Airport (journey time: 90 minutes). There are also bus services from Cologne, Koblenz, Mannheim, Heidelberg and Saarbrücken, amongst others. For full details, see the airport's website.
