There are no English pubs in Munich. There have been a few in the past. But as of 2006 there are none. Try the Irish pubs, Australian bars, and The Arc (an international sports bar) instead.

There was once an English pub in Munich called the Winchester Arms. It was located at Maistrasse 51 in Isarvorstadt. It closed sometime around 1999. Rick, the owner, now runs The Outland Australian bar in Haidhausen. Reason for closure of the Winchester Arms was most likely that it is a dead premises. Since it's closure various other bars and restaurants have come to that address only to close up a year or two later. Examples have been the Ayre's Rock Aussie bar. Followed by Merge Bar. As of 2005 there's a Mexican restaurant there called El Paso Cantina.

Sometime around 2001 there was an English pub in Schwabing called Hard Days Night. It was a Beatles theme bar. Located at Occamstrasse 4. It closed after about a year. The premises are now occupied by the Indian restaurant called Himalaya.

There is also a pub in Schwabing called Big Ben. Despite what the name suggest this is most definitely not an English pub. It's a tiny German dive bar full of old German men smoking and playing cards.
