About curry night
Curry night is not just about having good food but also about having a great time and lots of fun. The cultural diversity of people who are regularly part of this event is as colorful as the curry itself with all its different flavors and spices. Newcomers are particularly encouraged to join and they are heartily welcome. It is one of the best events to ease yourself into the TT community. You can make instant friends over drinks and fine food in a pressure-free, casual atmosphere. The event is organised via the Toytown Germany
chat forum. There are various chat topics as follows:
All English-speakers are welcome to attend a curry night. But first you must register on the chat forum and reserve your place. Anywhere between 8 to 40 people attend a curry night.
History of curry night
The Curry night originally started in Munich around June 2003. The only evenings which have been missed since then are those over Christmas and New Year. The first Frankfurt curry night was in July 2005, but they don't happen every week quite so consistently as in Munich.
Curry wars
A running joke regarding the
Curry Night is that of the
Curry Wars. The first curry war resulted in the tragic death of a TT member called "Noddy" - although rumour has it that he has been resurrected under a new identity. The second curry war resulted in a move away from
Sitar, which until then had been the one and only location for Curry Night. The Curry Night now takes place at a different Munich restaurant each week. The third curry war resulted in the unfortunate death of
roots - although it is hoped that he will also be resurrected some day.
