Suggested shops in Munich for cameras and photography equipment:

Tips:
Go try out the cameras at Media Markt to find the one you like. Then check the price of it at shops like hificomponents. These guys always have the best prices, but they are a bunch of crooks because they never have the items in stock although their website says so. I recommend against buying from net vendors because they may claim to have the item in stock, but many delay delivery for weeks, even months, until the product drops in price. Thats how they falsify low prices. In the meantime, you're stuck waiting, having already paid for your product.
A little known fact is that Media Markt is starting to have customer service, which includes price-matching ... yes this is true, in Germany! Go back to Media Markt to buy your camera because they carry most stock in the city. They will do a price-match if the competitor has a physical shop in the city (they won't match web prices). Tell the vendor to go to the hificomponents website, which will display that the item is in stock. You will walk out with a new cam at a crook's price.
...any recommendations anyone?
Take a walk down Schillerstraße near Hauptbahnhof. There's a couple of secondhand camera shops on both sides of the street. There's also quite a popular one back around the corner just after where C&A is as you walk in the direction of Karlsplatz. There are a couple on Amalienstraße, U-Bahn Universität (U3).
