An "Apartment hotel" is a hotel where each room comes with a kitchen. These hotels are intended for longer duration stays - perhaps a couple of weeks, or up to three months. They are also known as "residences". Meals are often provided, but you can choose to cook your own if you prefer.
Here are some suggested apartment hotels in Munich:
- Stay Munich - it's about €990 a month - that might be a company rate though. Facilities include: gym, one free shared internet terminal, sauna, weekly cleaning. The don't accept pets. Ottobrunnerstrasse - to get there, get the 55 from Ostbanhof and get off at Weddingerstr. or Woferlstr and walk up from there.
- Hotel Max Emanuel - right by the Isar. It is both a 3-star hotel, and you can get a slightly bigger rooms as service apartment. Breakfast provided, and quite a good breakfast too. About €900 to €1000 a month. Another review: I stayed there for a month in the winter. Will never stay in one again. Room too small, kitchen-closet was tiny even by boy scout camping expectations, heater was full-on and unadjustable, breakfast not so good by Munich hotel standards.
- Apart Hotels - there are two in Munich: Sendling and Giesing. BMW used to house the short-term Rover workers here when they came over from Longbridge. Apart Hotels & Residences, Heimgartenstraße 14, 81539 München, Phone: +49 89 62039-0, http://www.apart-muenchen.de
- Mercure are known for their serviced apartments, might be a tad 'spenny though.
