Socialising

There is a regular (once a month) drinks night for Americans in Munich - held at a different bar or restaurant each time. See the page on TT: Americans in Munich drinks night - also known by the German word "Stammtisch". There are also a number of American bars and restaurants in Munich.

Televised US Sports

For the viewing of American televised sports, a good venue is The Arc Pub in Schwabing.

Annual Chili Cook-Off

Once a year there is a chili cook-off competition. This is held in the Summer. See the chat for the event this year Munich Chili Cookoff 2005. See also the chat from previous years: 2004, 2003. Politics

There is a very active American political group in Munich. If you are interested in politics, and in particular if you are a Democrat supporter, see Democrats Abroad. There is (or was) also another group of political activists at: www.munich4america.com. Note, however, that this group is not an official Democrats Abroad group. In fact, it's not clear if this group even really exists anymore.

Voter Resources

Independence Day Parties

On the 3rd of July 2005 there was an Independence Day Party held at the Amerika Haus that had some 800+ guests. It was hosted by AGBC, DemsAbroad Munich, CBA, GABA and a few others. Despite some technical difficulties, a good time was had by all and the main attraction besides the southern style BBQ was George Green and he wowed the crowd with a surperb selection of Delta Blues and Jazz. It was truly a slice of Americana.
