The Abendzeitung is Munich's daily evening newspaper. The literal translation of the German word "Abendzeitung" is "Evening newspaper". Munich's Abendzeitung is published at about 6pm, Sunday to Friday. The Friday publication is a weekend edition. There is no publication on Saturdays. The paper costs €0.60 for the daily edition, €0.80 for the weekend edition.
Copies are available from honesty boxes on almost every street corner. There are also vendors at most of the city center U-Bahn stations during the evening. The vendors also tour around the local bars and restaurants during the evening. Otherwise it can picked up from any kiosk or newsagent.
The quality could be described as "mid-range". This is not tabloid journalism like the Bild Zeitung. But it is not as serious as the Sueddeutsche either.
The Abendzeitung does have a website, but the local Munich news stories are not published there.
