Zur Dicken Sophie - Munich
Zur Dicken Spohie is located conveniently next to the exit of Johannekirchen S-bahn the bus stop. On the edge of suburban Munich, this Gaststätte and Biergarten is a hit all year round. The inside is bright and airy thanks to the "Wintergarten" glass-roofed annex, whilst the beer garden is nicely shaded by trees. The offered is a mixture of Austrian and Bavarian cuisine. The beer served is "Ayinger". Most evenings are quite busy throughout the week so reservations for larger groups are recommended. The beer garden is also a convenient starting or finish point for cycle rides into the countryside around Unterföhring and trips to Feringasee.

Love this place, finally a Bavarian restaurant with good service. And they serve Ayinger beer.

A friend was going out to the airport, so meeting here was perfect because of the proximity to the S8. I had (as too often) schweinabraten, which was very nice. This is a comfortable place to have a meal. Our waiteress was fluent in English and had been to the US.
