Zoozies - Munich

Zoozies is a 'bar' bar and on winter nights it is a warm, noisy, packed, fun, ‘bar’ bar. This applies especially to the period called Fasching. It’s easy to meet people, to start conversations, to be charming and witty after a couple of beers and to let the beer goggles take control. And then the staggeringly handsome and utterly urbane boyfriend arrives. Typical.

In the back section of the bar I seem to remember some pool tables - forgive me, I was a little bit plastered that night. There's also lots of dark, golden wood and subdued lighting, both of which give even the ugliest specimens the best possible chance of making a good impression.

i fell in love with this place due its decoration and 'altbau' (high height ceiling) construction. people are nice, a bit alternative and a bit mixtured ... many girls all around ... salads and burguers are good, cocktails are definetely above the average, prices as well. the ambiente is worthy ... if you´re lucky you´ll land on a party where people dance on the tables. gets wild! the worst = a waitress whose name i can´t remember, i asked her if she could recommend me a place to go afterwards and she said 'P1' ... for god´s sake! 6 out of 10 - my score

This bar/restaurant is always packed full and I don't fully understand why. The pros: The food is quite good. Go for Sunday brunch which is fabulous...great American-style pancakes. The staff is very friendly though service can be a tad slow on a busy day...pretty much everyday. Free WLAN so just go there with your laptop, order a drink and surf your heart out. Cons: Not the best place to go for a nice, quiet conversation. The music is very loud. Ask one of the staff if they could turn the music down and they just shrug and tell you that's the decible at which music is played here...but with a smile, of course. Can get very smoky...so if you'r enot a smoker, pray for nice weather so you can sit outside (which is beautiful, right on the Isar) or go on Monday and hope it doesn't get too crowded.

Quite thirty-something shicki, big menu, they do a breakfast/ brunch thing called an 'Englishman' with beans and sausages which is quite good, well made and inventive cocktails, food in general average to good, all in all not a bad place to stop for sunday lunch if you are walking along the isar.

Two words about Sunday Brunch: train station. No relaxation to be had as you are constantly being shoved, bumped, and hovered over by the waiting hordes. Food is mediocre at best, and for 15 €, no coffee, tea, or even a glass of sekt is included.

P.S: The Wi-Fi is unreliable -- it didn't work for most of this Sunday's brunch -- and the staff doesn't care. "It's free" they shrug.

Re the previous 2 posts - yeah. Food's okay too by the way but not exactly 5 star.

The food at Zoozie'z was expensive for what you received. We had the burgers and you could tell they were cheap and not fresh. The whole meal was very unimpressive, small portions and even a hair in one of the burgers. The waitress was sorry and the service was OK. There are many better places to eat in Munich!

I agree, their burgers suck! Not fresh at all (grey meat) and not worth the money! They should stick to their salads, at least there´s not much to mess up... Music is definately too loud, prices definately too hight and the service ist definately too slow (altough nice). There is a great american restaurant nearby over the bridge in Giesing! You might wanna checkt that one out instead...

got my food before my drink (long drink, nothing special). with all these good reviews, I suspect I should give it another try.

popped here for lunch yesterday...the place was quite full. we were served by a very friendly waitress, she was very attentive and fast. food was tasty and not too expensive. great location, am sure it must be nice sitting outside in the warmer weather.
