A couple of months ago we reported on the opening of a lounge bar where you could play X-Box computer games all night long. Did you ever go to this bar? Probably not. And now you never will. It closed at the end of January. All four of Germany's X-Box lounges closed on the same night. Apparently the project was always intended to last only 3 months. The locations are now available to rent and the computers sold to charity. They finished up with style though. The closing party for the Munich lounge was hosted by none other than her royal ladyship Miss Gitta of Saxx. If you're now looking for an alternative location for games playing, try Munich's Race City instead.

Xbox Lounge - Munich

Bored of playing computer games in the solitude of your own bedroom? Well now you can play your fave games whilst sipping a beer in a trendy bar amongst friends. The X-Box Lounge Munich opened on 31st October 2003. Located just off the Klenzestrasse in Isarvorstadt you can come here to play X-Box games on the giant screen or any of the smaller terminals.

This is the fourth X-Box Lounge to open in Germany. There are others in Berlin, Hamburg, and Düsseldorf. Not only are the cities linked over the internet such that you can compete against players elsewhere in the country, but there is also some kind of webcam communication so that you can see what's going off in the other lounges.
