Tassilo Da Sebastiano - Balanstraße 34, 81669 Munich, Germany

I probably walked by this restaurant 10 times before my girlfriend took me there for dinner one night. It's hidden in a plaza next to a series of motorcycle shops, about as inauspicious and unpretentious a restaurant as you'll find.

But I can't recommend it enough.

This neighbourhood cafe style restaurant is blessed with impeccable service, an inpired menu, low prices and an unpretentious wine list developed with passion. It's almost always full, though never packed, and you feel a tremendous sense of ease and restfulness in this environment.

I now hear stories of people who eat there every night, and I know why. One of their signature dishes, the Spaghetti Tassilo is positively addictive; I could probably eat it every night for the rest of my life.

The staff and owner treat you like family, and the free bruschetta that awaits you upon arrival is heavenly.

I hope I haven't oversold it, but I'm a passionate believer - this place is A1.

I couldn't agree more. We live really close to this place and go there often. Not only are the food and service quite good, but they also have a play corner for the little ones, which allows the adults to have a nice meal in peace for a change.

My frau and I decided to try this place last night based on the stellar reviews. In short, we found the place fantastic, and it definitely fulfilled our expectations. I had the Tagliatelle with Salmon and Vodka and she had the Fish Risotto. They both contained copious amounts of fish and were extremely tasty. We also had a bottle of the house wine, which was fine and relatively inexpensive, and a couple of deliciously decadent desserts, namely the Chocolate Souffle and the Panna Cotta with Raspberry Sauce. The service was also very good and the staff was attentive and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place!!

Been there a few times for lunch but it was not all that great. Tomoto soup... never mind. Pizza's are so so and the table covers had plenty of oil spots over it. Now I do not want to sound to negative but I have seen better. G.

I have eaten at this Italian 6 or 7 times, every visit has been fantastic. Great, friendly service, excellent pasta and pizza and good wines by the glass. I highly recommend this place for both the food and service.

we went there last night for some drinks and were sitting at the bar. We ordered gin tonic. the measurement was below what was advertised on the menú. When we made a complaint to the staff, they wouldn't accept it. I wouldn't go back there again!

Well I guess since da Sabastiano is not a bar but a restaurant (at least the last time I have been there) the appreciation of the waiters for customers whome come for a drink is pretty low unless you would be a regular. Fair enough and I can't blame them for that, to be honest. If I was you, I would give them a fair chance for their food. It is really good!

I am confused as to where the "bar" is located here. I go there once a week to get take out in eat in once a month. The food is great, the waiters are friendly and I always get a deal on takeout.

The location of this is wrong on the map. Its on the opposite side of the street closer to the corner with Auerfeldstr. Perhaps the location is making it confused with Teatro Tapas Bar
