Tandoori - Klenzestr. 89, 80469 Munich, Germany
Update: This restaurant closed sometime mid-2007.
The quality of food at Tandoori is extremely high. They are also one of the few Indian restaurants in Munich, possibly the only restaurant, to serve Balti dishes. If you like Indian food, Tandoori is not to be missed. Tandoori opened in April 2005. It is the sister restaurant of New Delhi.

went there on tuesday night, fantastic food - it well deserves it's reputation. It's as good as any indian restuarant i've been to before in munich, great service and the food was delicious (and they even do "english spicey").
Posted by: "L" at 9:54 am on 28.Apr.2005Ate here on Saturday night. Service can't be faulted and the staff all very friendly. Free drink on arrival, free poppadoms, and free drink at end of night too. Food was fantastic and lots of it too! Check this place out if you havent already!!!
Posted by: "Seb" at 6:59 pm on 19.May.2005Same comments as Seb really Initially a bit of a git to find, but well worth it, I had the Bhunna Goast (72) and it was wonderful, hotter than I had had it in the Neu Delhi. However good it was, I did not finish because of talking with the lady on the next table, my plate was taken away for reheating... One minus point - I think they serve Paulaner beer there which is the shame as it's not particularly great. A big thumbs up from me!
Posted by: "Peter" at 9:14 am on 23.May.2005Where is it on Klenzestr.? That is a long road.
Posted by: "Roland" at 8:41 am on 24.May.2005The south end. Just before you get to Wittelsbacherstrasse.
Posted by: "Cant u read a map?" at 8:45 am on 24.May.2005Went there last night. The curry was very good but it wasn't the balti chicken vindaloo I asked for. It is located at the south end of the very long Klenzestrasse near the junction with Baumstrasse. The curry flavour was good and it seems to me that they have robbed the Neu Delhi of its best chef(s) to make the Tandoori a success. The beer was Paulaner and it was poured out of bottles but it tasted OK and was served well. They served the customary Neu Delhi free pappadoms with sauces and gave the free drink at the end. I just hope the Neu Delhi will again come up to standard as it is closer to where I live.
Posted by: "Roland" at 9:16 am on 25.May.2005Absolutely TOP food! However the place has been more or less empty the two times I've been, (one was a saturday evening), so I wonder if they'll manage to stay open. I hope so though, as the food's great, the staff friendly and the prices reasonable.
Posted by: "Anonymous" at 1:57 pm on 16.Apr.2006i have eaten here 3 times and every time was great. i like really hot curry, and they prepare a special "british style" madras curry. excellent.
Posted by: "zeeklafreek" at 11:21 am on 14.Jul.2006Its the best restaurante i`ve ever been to!The food was great service was excellent and i recomend it to anyone in town!
Posted by: "Amrita" at 10:58 pm on 18.Oct.2006Great food and service. Chilli chicken(english hot) is fantastic. Dont go by car, parking is a nightmare round about there, u-bahn is only 5 min. walk. For all the ex Neu Delhi fans a must.
Posted by: "Goldie" at 9:40 pm on 4.Jan.2007Food is very good. The waiters are very nice. Overall a very good place and not too expensive
Posted by: dan_84 at 1:12 pm on 6.Sep.2007We wanted to go to Tandoori at lunchtime today - they are under renovation until October 18. We really like this place. The food is very good, reasonably priced, and with good service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Posted by: Jellyfish at 4:17 pm on 30.Sep.2007Went to this Indian 2 weeks ago (sunday) on a trip to munich. Was excellent really good. Best place I have been to is in Harrogate, Yorks but this one matches it in my opinion.
Posted by: JPR123 at 5:38 pm on 5.Oct.2007Gutted. Drove for an age with visitng friends for a much needed curry, only to find it shut.
Posted by: cheechymunchy at 4:36 pm on 20.Nov.2007Does anyone know the email address or contact info for Ram? Went back to Munich after 3 years and searched for tandoori..only to find it shut down :(
Posted by: ashu at 12:15 am on 4.Jul.2008go to tollwood they have a stand there funny enough also called tandoori
Posted by: coolerking at 9:53 am on 4.Jul.2008I think the Tollwood Tandori people are different from this ex-restaurant. The Tollwood lot are the same owners who have the fast-food Indian in the Schrannenhalle.
Posted by: Editor Bob at 11:54 am on 4.Jul.2008i know them personnaly they are the same people who use to have the resturant but gave it up as the rent got too high . now have schrannenhalle as well as tollwood .
Posted by: coolerking at 12:49 pm on 4.Jul.2008What about removing from the list then, those who can?
Posted by: Qwertz at 9:31 am on 16.Jul.2008What list? They've long been removed from Indian restaurants in Munich.
