Spektakel - Pfeuferstraße 32, 81373 Munich, Germany
Restaurant and beergarden in the Sendling suburb. Food is traditional bayerisch, good, and normal (inexpensive) prices. The restaurant interior is themed to a rural Bavarian barn / village square idea. Two or three times a night, a virtual "storm" passes through, with lights flickering, the distant sound of thunder, a brief hard rain, and the sounds of water running along gutters. As if you were in an Alpine hut during a passing real storm. Quite nice, actually.

I am sooo glad someone posted about Spektakel. I went here about 6 years ago when I first arrived in Munich. Because I was new in town I had no idea where I was. Ever since I've been telling folks about it but nobody had ever heard of it. Yes, the storm effects are great.
Posted by: "Anonymous" at 2:29 pm on 10.Nov.2005what a lovely, friendly neighborhood beergarten. had my 0,5l apfelschorle, spareribs and a portion of kartoffelsalat for a mere 12 EUR. what a bargain. and there's an asian cook to boot -- gotta love bavaria! seriously, it's perfect for those in or around sendling. it's a 10 minute walk from the harras (u6 or s7) stop where plinganserstrasse. ends and pfeufferstrasse begins. great for folks like me who don't always wanna have to head north for some beergardening.
Posted by: "Ella Star" at 2:50 pm on 31.Jul.2006Went here last night with a group. We all left stuffed with very yummy Bavarian food. The service was good, and the atmosphere was well, interesting with the rainstorm. The Entegrost'l was so good, I couldn't eat it all. Others had the dessert teller- a small peice of all the desserts, very yummy and well presented.
Posted by: Carm at 10:38 am on 2.Oct.2006I go here a lot on sundays. My first impression was 'this is really neat'. Its unique interior is quite cozy, and the food is always great, and well priced. The storm is neat, and I always bring my relatives here for a good german meal. Recommended.
Posted by: Brennz at 11:42 am on 21.Jan.2008I've been hear a couple of times with groups of friends and romantic nights out with my boyfriend. Ive always gone in winter because its decor makes you feel like youve just been skiing and you deserve a warm and hearty meal. Especially with the fireplace in the center of the restaurant and a water fountsin next to it. Its a great place for the summer as well as they have a really pretty beergarten which is very secluded from the busy streets. Foodwise it is also very good and if your looking after you figure, it has a plenty of lighter opinions if you do not want to go for the caloric german food but if you do want typically german food you can have a smaller portion which is cheaper but you won't have to mind the pennys here as it is very inexpensive.
Posted by: "Crazy_Weird_Stone" at 10:12 pm on 20.Jan.2009Went here from a recomendation by the Receptionist in K & K Hotel. What a find, couldn't have done any better in the area, great food, great beer and perfect service. Missed the indoor storm though, thought the offer to go inside was to avoid genuine bad weather outside which didn't happen so we stayed outside. Heard it and saw the lights though, seemed very effective, we'll know better next time.
