Sonar Bangla - Munich

Great Bangladeshi Food. They are really trying hard to impress!
Originally the restaurant served no alcohol, but now they do.

Visited Sat night as an antidote to the Christmas Excess and found a delightful restaurant. The food was very good - but we were surprised with their interpretation of 'Volcano' which they meant to mean 'Vindaloo'... More of a flat fart - which they happily rectified :) Perhaps that's a slightly unfortunate choice of expression, but if they'd turned out what they subsequently provided, it would have been fantastic! We decided: 7.5/10! worth revisiting :) say 'toytown' and they gave us free pops and desert!

I really enjoyed my food here. Being a Bangladesh restaurant, they had different food on the menu than every other curry house. My food was a new flavour for me, and I will go back to try more of the menu. They gave us free poppadoms, nann and dessert, but we were a larger group. Service was very attentive too.

I've been there yesterday evening and I loved it! The meat especially is very high quality, I really advise the "Lamb Karahi", very nice and spiced! The food is not "germanized" at all! The service is very kind and at the end they gave us a free homemade mango-dessert very yummy. In two, mixed appetizers+main course+soft drinks= 40e, very fair given the quality, I would say!:)

some time ago, a group of us had dinner here one saturday night and it was really great, attentive service and proper spicy food. two of us went back today for lunch, the lunchtime menu seems quite varied and prices are about 7 EUROs for a 3 course meal. we had a choice of soup or salad for starters, dessert was a mango mousse. service was again attentive. the girls toilets have a bidet in, and a selection of hand creams and hair spray which is a nice touch.
