This was our first visit since they have reopened after remodeling. The decor is beautiful and the food is splendid. If you want "Hot" you have to ask when ordering. It is great to have them back.

We (My wife, our two small children and I) went to the restaurant the other night. The waiter who served us was arrogant, impatient and not helpful at all. All we wanted was some pasta with less or no cheese and the waiter warned us that I should not blame him if it does not taste like pasta. Anyhow, a forgettable experience. Since we know our Indian food, coming from India, the food was quite average too.

We have been to other restaurants in Munich but Shiraj is really good. From food to decor, everything is great. We frequently visit it and relish both vegetarian & non vagetarian dishes. We would say its the best and a must visit restaurant & the Mann & Frau there would definitely take good care of you!!

I visited Shiraj first time after they have re-opened. The quality, quantity and the service is as good as was before. A nice place with not typical Indian decor as other restaurants have.

Disagree with NewandLost - we have been to Shiraj a number of times, have organised events there and never had a bad experience. Can thoroughly recommend the prawn curry :-)

Recently Shiraj was featured in the TZ and Süddeutsche Zeitung for his excellent, delicious food. And their Mittagsmenu is also excellent. Keep it up!!!

Well you all must have extraordinary taste buds because this was the worst curry I have had in Munich! How anyone could rate this over Samrat I do not know. Was there with a group of people, regular curry eaters, and I was not the only one who was not impressed. The service was good but there were only 2 other tables so no reason for anything other than good service. But the food was not good and the curries were swimming in oil. I asked for a chicken Madras, ok is not on the menu but they said they could make one, and I specifically asked for it hot, and what I got was can only be described as an oily korma. Madras is a tomato based curry so why was it full of cream? I had to put 3/4 spoons of chillis in it to make it taste anywhere near as hot as a madras should be, even to german standards. The vegetable samosas were awful and just filled with curry paste from a jar. had no flavour at all. Will most certainly never be returning.

I and my friend went there last night. The food was excellent as well as the service. I think the Shiraj cannot be affected with negative comments as above. They have a name and fame.

Totally agreed with "number one". Shiraj is one of the best name among the Indian Restaurants. I visited last week with my group of friends and really enjoyed the food. Everthing was perfect. Do recommend this restaurant.

I went there recently, but nothing really like described here. Food was average and above it staff was too arrogant to go again. There are many and much better Indian Restaurants in Munich.

I organised my office party of 30 persons there and I must say the food and the service was extremely good. Only one word to describe this restaurant - EXCELLENT.

Have been a customer of the Shiraj for nearly 30 years. The original Shiraz was very good... the current Shiraz is at best mediocre... and the current manager is unaware how he should care for his longstanding clientele. Perhaps, the problem is the absentee owner not looking after his own interests. I regularly 'eat Indian' in Munich... I have stopped visiting the Shiraz... there are better dessi restaurants in Munich... some quite close to the Shiraz!

As far as I know there is no Manager in Shiraj and this restaurant is not so old as "Desi" written. I am also a regular customer of Shiraj and surprised to read this comment. Their quality and service are highly recommended. Shiraj was also featured in TZ and Süddeutsche Zeitung for their best quality. I think this is the best thing for any restaurant to be in the Newspaper.
