This is a kaiten-sushi restaurant--that is, one where the plates circulate on a belt and you snaffle them off. My boss and I went there for lunch one day, since it's near our office in the Theresienhoehe. We sat at the middle of the belt--that is, we weren't at the end mopping up the dregs after others had snaffled the best bits. We could expect that we got a reasonable sample of their fare. After 45 minutes of collecting some skewered, fried dishes and a few nori rolls, I asked my boss if he noticed anything strange about this restaurant. No, he replied. "Don't you think it strange" I pointed out, "that we've been in a so-called Japanese restaurant for three-quarters of an hour, and have not yet seen a piece of fish?" That the plce is not terribly authentic Japanese was confirmed by the waitress, in a round-about way. When asked for a latte macchiato to end the meal, she replied that since the staff were Chinese, all they could provide was an espresso or a cappucino. I'm still trying to get my brain around that one. Having lived in Japan for five years--and eaten excellent sushi in the REAL Shinjuku district, this restaurant rather perplexed me. To say the least.

This is no japanese restaurant. when i came there, i noticed that the japanese writing meant "SHIN JI KU" (NOT Shin ju ku). and the chinese people didnt even understand it.
