Salon Erna is the newest club to open on the "Optimol Gelände" nightlife area. The opening party will be this coming Friday (12th December 2003). This is an ordinary, medium-sized nightclub, nothing on the scale of 4004 which opened last week. Salon Erna is a club of two halves. The one room, the "Salon", is decorated in light colours and illuminated by six large luminous wall panels (glowing window type things). The second room, the "Kaminzimmer" or "Snug", is much smaller. In this room a video beamer provides visuals and the floor is decked out with beanbags to relax on.

Salon Erna opens early in the evening, at 8pm. So it's a good spot for the pre-party warm-up. The club is open Tuesday evenings through Saturday evenings. On Fridays and Saturdays the parties kick off later at 11pm. Each day has a slightly different music schedule:

Tuesdays - female DJ's, Electro, Indy, Funk, or Reggea
Wednesdays - bring your own music! It'll be played.
Thursdays - soul music
Fridays - ethnic music from Brazil, Persia, France, India
Saturdays - trance (progressive, goa, and psychedelic)

Entrance is free during the week. At weekends €2. There are no door staff, all guests are welcome.
