Ate here a couple of weeks ago. Food was great, service good (until it came to getting the bill) and a big terrace area to sit outside if the weather allows. Recommend!
Posted by: "Seb" at 6:54 pm on 19.May.2005why do all italians have to get sooo expensive? Euro=Teuro? Though must admitt the Mohn Ravioli are just awesome. Service is actually poor, unless you're aStammgast
Posted by: "ms" at 5:15 pm on 15.Feb.2006Romans may look impressive from the outside, but the food and service is nothing to rave about. The menu itself is diverse and individual, but in the end it doesn`t live-up to what it seemingly promises. I agree ... rather expensive and over-rated. Don`t waste your time. There are many other more deserving restaurants to visit!
Posted by: "Mad" at 8:23 pm on 15.Feb.2006I link up on the last comment. I went there the other day. Very smoky, crowded and rather expensive. There really are a lot of other italian retaurants that are more deserving of a compliment!!
Posted by: "Anon" at 5:54 pm on 16.Feb.2006We were invited by friends yesterday evening and I must admit that I was pretty sceptical after reading the other reviews. However, all was well, the service was very good, the food was excellent, wines were not overpriced and the atmosphere is comfortable. All in all, I thought it was good value for money.
Posted by: "Expatgeordie" at 5:06 pm on 9.Aug.2007I am a regular at Romans, so possibly a little biased, but ever since I was introduced to Romans 3 years ago I have always visited it regularly. The food is very good (Fish Soup is my girlfriend's favourite!) and the prices are well in line with an average pocket. Wines are generally good, the "open" wines on offer being generally better than yer average offerings at more expensive places. Added to that, the atmosphere is friendly and the service usually excellent (but then again, I go regularly and so maybe get a more instant response). It also has an interesting mix of people, from local bods like me who go regularly to some of the more chiccy-miccy bods who think of it as something rather special (which of course it can be). I have spent many evening there amnused by the wierd and the wonderful who turn up. Botox spotters can sometimes have a field day! Seriously, Romans is a good place, and testament to the fact that you can eat well and economically in Munich when you look for the right places.
